About this place Attack

Attack is Madrid's original dungeon-style gay bar and club, and it's been around for ages. The place has a full bar, a chill-out area, a dark room, private booths, and dedicated play zones. You can pick your mood, then pick your spot. Madrid's gay scene has plenty of places to drink and dance, but Attack stands out for mixing a club feel with more intimate spaces. It's an old hand, with the kind of layout you see in mature European gay clubs: lots of options, so you can move from energetic to quiet as the night goes on. You'll find it at Calle Olivar 22, right in Madrid's central gay district. If you're out for the night, it's easy to combine with other bars nearby. Check their Facebook page for hours and current details.

Beware of this place! It's extremely dangerous. I went in and locked my belongings (phone, wallet). At the end of the night, as they were closing up, I went to get my personal items with my key. When I opened my closet, there was absolutely nothing there. They had vanished. When I started asking the bartender and the supposed manager, they told me they weren't responsible for my things and that I should leave. I got really angry and told them I wasn't leaving and that they should call the police until my phone and wallet turned up. I was so insistent that they realized they couldn't steal my belongings. Finally, the supposed manager started calling my phone, which we found in a completely different closet where I had put my things. In conclusion, I was drunk, and they stole my bracelet and switched my belongings. At 5 a.m. it's very easy to throw a drunk person out onto the street, and they tried, but they didn't succeed. This place is truly dangerous. Don't go. It's not worth having a good time if you then end up in the situation I experienced last Thursday night. If I hadn't been very firm, saying a thousand times that I wouldn't leave under any circumstances unless they called the police, they would have thrown me out like a dog. And today, 12 hours later, I wouldn't be able to write this message. Be careful and never go to this place.

The place is great. It's very intriguing, but lately the downside is that it closes without any warning to customers. For example, today it was supposed to open at 9:00 PM, and I waited there for over an hour, and they never opened. I think that's disrespectful; they should at least give some notice.

This place seems to have entered a downward spiral: abandoned website, €5 charge for the locker key, terrible cleanliness, the owner is "out of it," the alcohol is the worst cheap stuff, the wait to get in is endless and there's almost always a queue because of the difficulty new customers have registering, and the crowd is high and wasted, not to mention what's been mentioned in other reviews. It's a shame how years of good business can be thrown away...
