It's an amazing hotel, but we found the price they charged us for bringing two Chihuahuas outrageous. €80 per dog per night. That's not being pet-friendly; it's not wanting dogs in the hotel. If we had known that, we wouldn't have brought them. I think it's highway robbery to pay €180 for just one day at the hotel. It's cheaper to take them to a dog spa. It's a complete rip-off. I'm being fair, and the hotel is incredible. But I'm posting this so people can reflect on how exorbitant it is to pay these prices for two Chihuahuas.
The hotel is beautifully situated on the beach, about 1.5 km from the town center. You can walk to the center in about 25 minutes along the beach promenade. Alternatively, you can take a small train; there are dedicated stops for it called "ting ting." The rooms are very nice, modern, and have balconies. Unfortunately, the staff at the pool bar aren't particularly motivated. You can tell they're there for the pay, not because they enjoy it. The double sunbeds are only available by reservation, and during our stay, they were mostly unused. However, you weren't allowed to lie down, which is completely incomprehensible. The reception staff were incredibly nice, friendly, and very helpful. There were many families with small children and also many with dogs, who were happy sitting on the upholstered furniture and at the pool bar. We wouldn't book this hotel again.
I called to ask if it was possible to eat at the restaurant and also get a day pass to use the pool. The response was that the only option was to reserve a Balinese bed for €400 per day, not including any drinks. Frankly, I found the price completely outrageous. I've stayed in luxury hotels and haven't even found similar rates for pool access. It seemed to me that their pricing policy is totally out of touch with reality. A real disappointment.
So far, very impressed with the hotel and its facilities. The room is lovely: clean and quiet with a balcony and comfortable bed. We've enjoyed several excellent breakfasts (buffet) with a great selection of almost everything you could possibly want. We also enjoyed the restaurant and the rooftop bar and restaurant. The rooftop has a lovely view and we thoroughly enjoyed both the food and cocktails especially the anchovies, beet tartare and the Bomba ( a sort of potato and ham croquette) all delicious. The beach facilities are good however not at the same standards of food nor service as the main hotel, so we tended to stay in the pool area. There are lots of other wonderful beaches in the area. There are also loads of great bars and restaurants nearby. The only thing we did not appreciate is being charged for sun beds on the beach. Overall would highly recommend for a fun filled holiday. Update: Surprisingly, one of the best meals we had in Sitges was a lunch in the hotel! WOW! It was truly spectacular! We started with Oysters then Salted anchovies and Canyut ( similar to a razor clam but shorter and smaller) a specialty from nearby Vilanova. Next we had Tallarinos - (absolutely delicious mini clams) All perfectly executed. This was followed by a wonderful seafood Fideua paella - made with Fideos pasta instead of rice. This is a specialty in this area which we would not have ordered had it not been so highly recommended by our friends living here… and we are so glad we did! Really delicious…The grilled John Dory ( whole fish) and vegetables was also perfectly cooked and delicious. Although exceptionally well fed, we forced ourselves to finish with a little ice cream ( I would recommend the pistachio) and a carrot cake. Really a very special and very memorable feast! P.s. the restaurant was full… reservations necessary and the paellas (that they are known for) are only available until 4pm…
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and completely unwinded in 4 days! Highly recommended.
