What reviewers say

Visitors frequently praise the friendly and helpful staff, the hotel's excellent location, and the cleanliness of the rooms, with some noting recent refurbishments. However, a common complaint is the lack of in-room kettles and the very compact nature of the rooms and bathrooms, which some find difficult to use.

This place is really not good. Service was terrible and the room felt like being in a hospital. Incredibly expensive but I guess it's central Birmingham

The series from staff at the ibis was a+ very friendly and happy to help with any questions we had. The room was extreamy clean and modern there wasn't a kettle but we already knew this to took a travel kettle with us. Bed very comfy and the bathroom was spotless. The hotel in a whole was great for what we needed pet friendly, convenient, and close to everything we were in Birmingham for I will be keeping it on my go to list for if we need to stay over in Birmingham again

The location is super convenient and walkable to the train station, making this a great place for anyone visiting without a car. The rooms were clean, and I had the fortune of staying in a recently refurbished room which felt nicer than what some other reviews are writing about. There was also a small desk if you need to get some work done. That said, the aircon in our room didn’t really work, and the road is too loud and busy 24/7 to be able to keep the window open overnight, so not ideal for heatwaves. The lifts were also pretty slow/rattly. All in all, especially if you don’t plan to stay in your room all day, it’s good value. Bear in mind that they charge 2£ per bag for luggage storage on the day you check out!

Booked a stay at this hotel via hotels.com for whilst my eight month old daughter was in Birmingham Children's Hospital for an operation as we live outside the area. Unfortunately the operation was cancelled in the morning. I contacted hotels.com explaining I understood you could only cancel with no penalty if done 24 hours before check in, and asked if they could move the booking to an as yet unknown date, or apply a credit balance to my account so I could rebook when needed. Was told hotels.com couldn't do this, they then contacted the hotel who explained their policy was strict and nothing could be done. I'm absolutely disgusted that no consideration was given to my circumstances, I don't get what else I'm supposed to do; just keep paying for hotels I don't use because the operation date gets moved again? I will never use hotels.com, Ibis or any of their affiliated companies' products ever again.

I’ve been travelling to Birmingham twice a month for the past two years to visit my daughter and grandson, staying in various hotels and apartments and spending a small fortune. Discovering Ibis Budget Birmingham has been a game changer. The hotel is extremely clean, offers incredible value for money, and the staff are always friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay, with a Morrisons supermarket conveniently located just across the road for any essentials. A continental breakfast is available until 10am for just £9, and it’s great to know that pizza and alcoholic drinks can be ordered 24 hours a day through reception. If you’re looking for a clean, affordable hotel with excellent service, I highly recommend staying here. I’ll definitely be returning.
