Dulux premium with balcony. I like a good room and dont mind to pay for it. What a rubbish hotel this is. Firstly no car park so when you arrive, park on double yellows book in go to room and hope you dont get clamped. Have to walk through mall with cases to get to reception. Nearest carpark can be full so book in advance or it will be more than the closest 10 min walk. Room. Water is fixed at lukewarm so no hot shower. No heating, theres a oil filled radiator. Mattress is so soft you sink half way to the bed base. If you're ok to stay awake to 4am the night club next door is banging all the way. Room £267 Over night parking £32 Only positive is the location for amenities. 3/10

We visited The Cube for drinks rather than afternoon tea, and had a really pleasant experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, explaining that afternoon tea needs to be booked in advance, which was good to know. The atmosphere was lovely, and it’s a great place to relax and enjoy a drink. We still had a nice time even without booking food, and would definitely consider returning—perhaps next time to try the afternoon tea.

The rooms are spacious, however there is no big light and with only having 1 small window made the room fairly dark. There was a fridge and iron in the room which was nice. The shower was cold, even on the hottest setting it was cold. We reported this to reception who said they had reset the boiler and to give it some time to warm up. I cannot fault the reception staff as they were polite. However, the shower warmed slightly after this but still not hot and then soon went back to being cold again. The bed is super springy and our air con was not working. The location is perfect as their is a lot of restaurants/bars and a Tesco in walking distance. Overall i would not recommend as i have stayed in cheaper places with a better overall experience. I believe having a warm room and shower is basic level for a hotel of this price.

I stayed at the Cube Hotel for three nights. Overall, the room was decent, but I was expecting more of a “wow factor.” One downside was the large white pole positioned right next to the bed—it made getting in and out a bit awkward, and you definitely have to be careful. I understand that not all rooms have this feature, and you can request a room change, but this is subject to availability. Also the heating was broken something that wasnt mentioned at check in so we had to have a portable heater. Breakfast on the first day was lovely. However, when we returned the following morning, we were told that breakfast service is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays—something that had apparently been agreed months ago, though this wasn’t communicated to us at reception. The manager I spoke with was just as confused and mentioned he doesn’t agree with the closure either, and suggested that I raise a complaint. As a result, we went to the AC Hotel for breakfast, where they kindly only charged us for one breakfast instead of two, which was appreciated. Overall, while there were some positives, the experience was inconsistent, and I’m not sure I would return.

Avoid this awful hotel, front door broken so had to walk round in the rain, room asked for given to another guest, one of two lifts broken so long waits, and the restaurant terrible 😢.

The hotel is located 5 minutes from Birmingham train station. The hotel has rooms on the 23rd and 24th floors. The room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. Highly recommended. The staff provided excellent service.

So conflicted. Absolutely brilliant location and views but this is definitely no longer a luxury hotel. Booked a one night stay and saw the reviews about the air conditioning being broken, but figured it would be fixed by the time I got there a month or so later. I was wrong. On check in the friendly receptionist let me know the air con wasn't working and let me know that I could have a fan if needed. Having stayed in some incredibly hot and not air conditioned hotels in the past I figured how bad could it be.... It was bad The room was absolutely baking. The floor to ceiling windows that give the amazing views also act as massive radiators and the heat in the room was stifling. The sun obviously hits the windows all day although when I arrived around 4pm the sun had moved off the glass. To the credit of the receptionist my request for a quiet room had been met and I was in a small corridor with only one other room, which was a huge bonus as I was able to wedge the door open to try and let some of the heat out. I'm not sure I would have been comfortable doing that in a busier corridor. There were two fans in the room, one was broken (the 3 pin plug was snapped) when I asked for a replacement for the second fan I was told they would see what they could do, but saw no replacement nor did I get a call to say they didn't have a spare, not great. I was asked to pay a security deposit for damages on check in which I was fine with, but when I saw the condition of the room I felt the deposit a bit cheeky. The room was tired, the carpet stained, walls dirty and in all honesty the bathroom was less clean than a campsite shower block I'd used the night before. Luckily I was visiting Birmingham to see a gig so the room had cooled down by the time I got back (but I did open all the curtains as far as they would go so the now cool glass worked the opposite way) the room temperature upon my return was bearable with the one working fan I did have. I slept well and the room was quiet. Check in and check out were easy and the staff I met were friendly. I didn't try breakfast. Overall I was disappointed. I could have booked the Holiday Inn or even an Airbnb for less money but wanted to treat myself for a special occasion and this was not a treat. Three stars for the views, the location and the staff. I won't be staying again though.

First I check in. Receptionist even asked me my preference of where my room is. I told her I just want somewhere quiet with a view. Receptionist says my room number out loud which is a safety issue. I go to the room and there's a couple in there shocked to see me. I go back down and told oh computer error. I get another room and again says room number out loud. Just had a woman violated due to that so yeah, I'm feeling nervous. I just want 1 night of peace and quiet. I go to my room. Considerably smaller than the first one and two small windows. One a slit and the other a small picture window. View, can't see much due to size of windows. So, I try to relax and make the most of things. I am jarred constantly by banging doors. As my room is at end of hall by stairwell, I felt really nervous being a solo woman. If that wasnt too bad, the thin wall was banged on once every hour whilst I was there as well. Just couldn't take any more of the noise and banging. I checked out 4 hours after checking in. Oh and let someone know that the sink plug is down and no way to lift it! Why on earth was that down in the first place???

Bathroom needs grouting and tidy up. Room is big and has windows on 2 sides. Bed was very bouncy and a double quilt put in a king size cover on a queen size bed. There were only a few te etc . Asked for more but had to wait until house keeping came on shift. I am disabled so I spend a lot of time in room so tend to drink a lot. Tv had volume restricted asked reception to unrestrict it. She said she'd send maintenance to look at it but didn't think he could do anything. It was so low we could barely hear it. Balcony was big with a great city view.

Not the worst hotel ive stayed in. Quite basic but quiet and comfy.

Wow this place has gone down hill since the Hotel Indigo days. We always used to stay here for our Birmingham trips but will not be returning. Dried vomit on the floor as soon as you walk in. Spring mattress which clearly hasn’t been changed for years as there was no support in the middle of the mattress which results in bad back support over night. No hot water so cold taps and cold shower. We were advised that there might be noise til 1am due to the bar above us on 25th floor (we were on 24th floor) yet there was noise all night as if the royal rumble was being filmed upstairs. Lifts not working properly. Doors not working properly. I don’t usually give reviews but wow this place has fallen from grace. Caveat, reception staff were lovely, as well as the restaurant and bar staff. Lady at reception aware of the issues and complaints but has no control over the people at the top who won’t spend the money to sort this mess out. The only way this still gets booked is because of its great location.

Booked because they advertise a spa Only to be told once we get there they got rid of it during covid, which would be 4 years ago. However they have continued to update the website with spa still on therefore feels completely conned.
