Trans Pride Brighton
About This Event
Trans Pride Brighton kicked off in 2013, a trans-led event held in July, separate from the larger Brighton & Hove Pride in August. The non-profit behind it, Trans Pride Brighton, also runs the Trans Pride Centre, a community space that's open year-round.
Organisers see the day as a mix of protest and celebration.
It gets going at 11:30 with speeches in Jubilee Square, followed by a midday march through the centre.
After that, the event spills out across several sites: the Brighton Dome Corn Exchange hosts performances and stalls, New Steine Gardens has more stalls, and Dorset Gardens is set aside for a family picnic area. You can get into all of it for free.
The 2026 march, on Saturday 18 July, was the biggest one yet - Scene magazine estimated the crowd at over 40,000, stretching more than a kilometre up West Street and past the Clock Tower. Previous years drew around 30,000 people.
The focus was on trans youth, with a lot of anger about the equality watchdog's recent guidance on single-sex spaces.
As of our last check, the 2027 date hadn't been announced.
