What reviewers say

Visitors frequently praise the staff for being exceptionally kind, helpful, and welcoming, contributing to a friendly and lively atmosphere, especially with the entertainment and nightclub. About this place Legends Hotel

Legends occupies a prime position on Marine Parade — the Kemptown seafront, with unobstructed views of the English Channel from the terrace — and is Brighton's most established explicitly gay hotel. The ground floor Legends Bar and cabaret venue is a Kemptown institution in its own right: regular drag shows, themed nights, a terrace that fills on sunny afternoons, and a cabaret programme that represents the best of Brighton's extraordinary drag and performance scene. The hotel rooms are above the bar and share the seafront position; the superior rooms have sea views. Legends is the accommodation choice for visitors who want to be at the centre of the Kemptown community rather than adjacent to it — the bar is downstairs, Revenge is two doors away, and St James's Street starts at the junction. Brighton Pride weekend makes it the most sought-after address in the city. Three-star rating but the location and community identity make it the most valuable accommodation in Brighton for LGBTQ+ visitors.

Great staff, beautiful clean rooms, and the perfect location for Brighton!

Top notch across the board! Staff were great from the moment we arrived. We got to town we'll before check-in time and they held our luggage while we explored the nearby pier and lanes. We had a large sea view room which definitely was large and seemed even bigger after the micro rooms of London. We could see the pier from our room and walking up to see the water and just sitting by the window with a coffee such a relaxing start to the day. The road out front can get busy so the noise from the traffic can be distracting but the hotel does provide ear plugs though we didn't need them. The bar staff downstairs were absolutely lovely and good fun. We were here mid week so no shows and we realize that meant a much quieter experience compared to the weekend or in prime summer. Would stay again and hands down would recommend.

Dirty room, not cleaned properly or at all. Unhappy & unfriendly staff. Bouncers unfair and aggressive!! One night stay was to much to bear. I will definitely not be returning again. Disappointing beyond belief.

My overall impression of the hotel was negative. The building itself is very inconvenient: the hallways are narrow, and the standard rooms are small. We booked a large 35-square-meter room with a good view, but it didn't help matters. The main problem is the hotel has no air conditioning at all! The windows face a busy street. The intense traffic noise makes it impossible to sleep with the windows open. If you close them, the room becomes unbearably hot and stifling. The hotel also has a unique atmosphere and isn't suitable for everyone—the type of guests and the behavior of many guests are uncomfortable.

I absolutely loved staying at Legends Hotel. I originally booked just one night, but I enjoyed it so much that I decided to stay an extra day. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are lovely, and the views are beautiful. Liss at reception is an absolute sweetheart, and not only her — all the hotel staff and the bar team were incredibly friendly, welcoming and kind. The location is also perfect: very close to the centre, surrounded by lovely restaurants and nice places, and only about two minutes walking from the beach. When I come back to Brighton, I already know where I’ll stay. Thank you for such a lovely experience.
