About this place Legends Bar

Legends Bar is one of Brighton's iconic gay venues, located right on Marine Parade with stunning views over the seafront. The bar combines a relaxed daytime atmosphere with a more energetic weekend scene, transforming into a popular dance club when the sun goes down. Whether you're looking for a casual drink with a view or a night out on the dance floor, this is a venue that's earned its place in Brighton's long-established LGBTQ+ nightlife scene. The venue features a bar area and a sea-facing terrace, making it an ideal spot to enjoy drinks while taking in the coastal setting. The entertainment varies throughout the week with different theme nights, giving visitors reasons to return and experience something fresh each time. The atmosphere shifts noticeably between weekday and weekend, so when you visit will shape your experience—quieter and more social during the week, livelier and dance-focused as the weekend approaches. Brighton's gay scene is one of the UK's most established and welcoming, and this venue is a key part of that landscape. Whether you're a first-time visitor to the city or returning for another visit, Legends Bar offers the kind of familiar, reliable fun that's kept it on the map for years. Visit their website for current information about themed nights and opening hours to plan your visit accordingly.

We spent 2 nights visiting from Australia. The service was above and beyond, and Mikey and Ingrid were very friendly and helpful. Excellent location and view from the downstairs bar. Thank you guys!

Top notch across the board! Staff were great from the moment we arrived. We got to town we'll before check-in time and they held our luggage while we explored the nearby pier and lanes. We had a large sea view room which definitely was large and seemed even bigger after the micro rooms of London. We could see the pier from our room and walking up to see the water and just sitting by the window with a coffee such a relaxing start to the day. The road out front can get busy so the noise from the traffic can be distracting but the hotel does provide ear plugs though we didn't need them. The bar staff downstairs were absolutely lovely and good fun. We were here mid week so no shows and we realize that meant a much quieter experience compared to the weekend or in prime summer. Would stay again and hands down would recommend.

Dirty room, not cleaned properly or at all. Unhappy & unfriendly staff. Bouncers unfair and aggressive!! One night stay was to much to bear. I will definitely not be returning again. Disappointing beyond belief.

My overall impression of the hotel was negative. The building itself is very inconvenient: the hallways are narrow, and the standard rooms are small. We booked a large 35-square-meter room with a good view, but it didn't help matters. The main problem is the hotel has no air conditioning at all! The windows face a busy street. The intense traffic noise makes it impossible to sleep with the windows open. If you close them, the room becomes unbearably hot and stifling. The hotel also has a unique atmosphere and isn't suitable for everyone—the type of guests and the behavior of many guests are uncomfortable.

I absolutely loved staying at Legends Hotel. I originally booked just one night, but I enjoyed it so much that I decided to stay an extra day. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are lovely, and the views are beautiful. Liss at reception is an absolute sweetheart, and not only her — all the hotel staff and the bar team were incredibly friendly, welcoming and kind. The location is also perfect: very close to the centre, surrounded by lovely restaurants and nice places, and only about two minutes walking from the beach. When I come back to Brighton, I already know where I’ll stay. Thank you for such a lovely experience.
