About this place The Camelford Arms

Located on Camelford Street in the heart of Brighton, this is a laid-back gay bar that prides itself on a no-attitude approach to hospitality. The venue is known as a popular choice for bears and their admirers, though it welcomes all types and creates an inclusive atmosphere for everyone. You'll find the vibe is genuinely friendly and relaxed — the kind of place where you can settle in comfortably without pretension. Beyond drinks, the bar serves straightforward pub food at sensible prices. The menu includes sandwiches, toasties, soups, pies, and bangers and mash — solid, tasty fare that pairs well with a visit. Whether you're stopping by for a quick bite or settling in for the afternoon or evening, you can expect good-value food and drink in a welcoming environment. Practical touches include free WiFi, making it easy to stay connected. Brighton's gay scene offers plenty of variety across venues and neighbourhoods, and this bar stands out for its unpretentious character and focus on genuine hospitality rather than hype. It's the kind of neighbourhood spot that locals return to regularly, which says something about the genuine welcome you can expect.

Myself and my friends used to like this establishment . Unfortunately what used to be a community bar has now turned into bar of division. The picture below shows how they now promote hate speech and discrimination. The equality act 2010 protects a person's beliefs and political views. Myself and my friends will no longer frequent this bar. It is a pity to see what was a good bar fall so far. A Disgraceful Sign
