used to be my go-to spot with my friends after I moved to Brighton especially after advertising themselves as such a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community, but I've heard so many stories from people that I know about unfair treatment towards victims. My transgender girlfriend got banned for TEN years for being 'caught in the wrong bathroom' despite the bathrooms being unisex and the place being 'accepting' of trans people using the bathrooms that align with them, then they tried to tell her she was damaging property when she asked how this was possible. She was meant to have a one year van, but they claimed that ten years was 'mistyped' but refused to correct it when she turned up a year later. Now I'm hearing that a victim of harassment was banned for trying to report the man threatening her life in there? Saying that she caused trouble and 'its always something's with her. Incredibly unsafe and unprofessionally dealt with, reporting instances has never led anywhere in my friend's lives and I can no longer bring myself to visit or recommend it to others
I am absolutely disgusted and appalled with how you have banned me a victim of being harrassed, being ran up on by a man who attempted to hit me at your club. You are not handling this in a safe way ironically you’re taking my safe space away from me. I once thought of this club as a safe space but you have deprived me of that once again. This is the second time you are victim blaming me and criminalising me (you say you aren’t but you are otherwise I wouldn’t be banned as the victim which you seem to not understand) from something I have not started and that involves harassment. Do you think this would make women feel safe to report incidents like SA, harrassment if banning said victims of these is your approach ? You are not making anything safe for me you are also affecting my mental state which already completely shit and I thought this being my safe space would make me feel better but as I’ve said you’ve deprived me of this again. Your manager had the most unprofessional disgusting and microaggressive response to me saying I was harrassed by a man aswell. As I quote verbaitm : “it’s always something with you/we’ve heard stuff about you” as if I’m not reporting me litterally being harrassed and threatened. Banning victims but then probably turning around and still letting in the abusers is not how you manage assaults or incidents and I’m absolutely shocked by this. You profit off using me in your posts but don’t care to hear me out when I’m a victim. I don’t find you to be safe especially for poc/ black queer people like me. You really need to improve on your victim blaming as this has taken a massive mental toll on me and I would like to speak to some sort of HR or manager again.
