Liverpool Pride
About This Event
Liverpool's Pride became official in 2010. The date was chosen close to the anniversary of the homophobic murder of 18-year-old Michael Causer in 2008, and the march still marks it.
The last two years have been rocky. In June 2025 the LCR Pride Foundation cancelled Pride in Liverpool, citing money problems, rising costs, an almost entirely volunteer operation and the knock-on effects of ending its Barclays sponsorship. Sahir House, the local LGBTQ+ and HIV charity, stepped in, and a scaled-back event went ahead after a six-week rescue.
For 2026 the two worked together: Sahir House led the weekend and LCR Pride Foundation ran the march. It opened on Friday 24 July with a party at the M&S Bank Arena. On Saturday 25 July a walking-only march, with no floats or vehicles, left Houghton Street by St John's Beacon and finished on Lord Street, with a community expo at the Liverpool Experience Campus. The Pride Quarter bars around Stanley Street, including The Lisbon, Heaven and GBar, carry it on into the night.
We couldn't find an attendance figure for 2026. The 2027 dates hadn't been announced when we checked.

Practical Tips
Pier Head fills up early
The festival site sits right on the Mersey with limited shade and no re-entry once at capacity. Come with the march or head down straight after and stake out a spot near the main stage.
