via Stay22About this place Surrey Quays (Russia Dock)
Surrey Quays, in the Russia Dock area, is an outdoor cruising spot for gay men in London.
You’ll find it on the paths running beneath Stave Hill. It’s a place for casual encounters, out in the open, and it really picks up after dark. Most of the action happens on the lower paths around the hill.
This isn't a bar or a club. It's discreet. If you go, dress for the weather—any time of year. While it's outdoors and feels open, the crowd and what's happening can change a lot depending on the season or even the hour.
It’s in the Surrey Quays part of Greater London, so public transport gets you there. If you're new to cruising spots, or just new to London’s gay scene, it’s a good idea to check it out during the day first. Just get a feel for the place. Like any cruising area, discretion matters. So does respect for everyone else there, and for the people who live nearby.
