Victoria Park

Victoria Park is a large public park on the Hackney and Tower Hamlets border. It has an old, low-key reputation as a cruising area, but it is nowhere near as well known as Hampstead Heath, and on most days it is just a park full of joggers and families. It also hosts big summer concerts. We have no recent first-hand reports, so treat this as historical. Cruising itself is not a crime in England, but sex where the public can see it can lead to arrest for outraging public decency or exposure, and in a public toilet it is a specific offence. Robberies and homophobic attacks on men in London parks do happen. Keep your phone charged, carry little, tell a friend where you are, and report incidents to the police or to Galop, the LGBTQ+ anti-violence charity.
