Disappointing to see a five star hotel not provide even 15-30 mins late check out (noting I myself checked in quite late and I’m sure others are as well). If you want to be 5 star the whole package needs to be 5 star and late check out is not guaranteed but there is leeway for at least 30 mins.the conversation with guest services also did not pleasant nor genuine.

Boring and awkward rooms. There are many other 5 star properties in London at cheaper prices that are 4x nicer. Avoid if you are used to 5 star properties. Probably ok if this is your first time in London and you want to explore covent garden. Deluxe room is not different from other rooms - at least not room 516.

During my first family trip to London, I really enjoyed this hotel. The location is convenient for exploring the city, and the staff is welcoming. The rooms are comfortable, and the hotel is very well-suited for a family stay. A great place to stay for visiting London in comfort. I recommend it.

This place was amazing, and the staff was incredible! We stayed with our family of 5, and everything was just perfect. Comfy beds, delicious food, speedy room service, and the most kind/attentive staff we have ever encountered in a big-city hotel...

Amazing stay at The One Aldwych. Staff were welcoming and helpful, room was incredible and food/drink of great quality. It is expensive even for central London but the quality is worth it.

I am writing a horrible review for this hotel because of their lack of understanding concerning illness and extenuating circumstances. They have no regard for the client whatsoever. I had been sick with food poisoning earlier this week and was not able to travel to London as a result of it. This happened earlier this week from eating in a restaurant at home in Canada. My mother and I were supposed to travel as of Thursday, July 30 and arrive on Friday, July 31 for our reservation. We had to contact the hotel on Thursday because there were problems with me getting on an airplane with very difficult physical symptoms. I was also running a temperature/fever so this would obviously not have been ideal to be on an airplane in this condition. In any case, they have charged the full cancellation policy because we were not able to cancel this reservation any sooner than their cancellation policy, which is 24 hours. Obviously had I been sick on earlier in the week, it goes without saying that we would have cancelled this reservation on time. We had other intentions to travel to London earlier this year and each time we had a reservation with this hotel, we were able to make sure that the policy was respected and never incurred had any charges on a credit card up until Friday July 31. We are really shocked about being charged over $1500 CAD for this one night based on a valid health problem. The next available time that we will be able to travel is in the fall 2026 and since we are still looking to come to London, it is very unlikely that we will be booking with this hotel. We have had other hotels accommodate matters of this type in the past, considering that health issues are typically understood very well by hotels, particularly when they have a five (5) star rating. Although I cannot rate the hotel for its amenities, location and the overall experience of staying there, I would not recommend any travellers in general to consider this hotel in London with their horrible customer service and their bad attitude towards guests. It should also be noted that this hotel does not seem to be all that transparent in the implementation of its policies because they sent an email to us indicating that the reservation was cancelled as of Thursday, July 30 for the total of eight (8) nights that was booked. It never indicated anything about the cancellation penalty being applied in said email. The email arrived in my mother’s inbox as of approximately 2:15 PM EST on Thursday July 30. There is something very underhanded about this decision to send a cancellation email with no information about penalties being applied. It gave the impression that the whole reservation was voided with no charges added, when in fact on Friday July 31, they actually did charge a cancellation penalty of one night's stay. It would have been helpful and a much better option had the hotel been more transparent about this charge as of Thursday July 30 when we first notified them about my illness and the problem of travelling given this particular circumstance. I am aware of their cancellation policy, but they made it sound as though they needed to review the situation and get back to us the next day (Friday, July 31). When they did finally contact us, the only thing they did say is that we had been charged the one night cancellation penalty and it was as if the entire medical circumstance explained (food poisoning at home in Canada) had been disregarded. Not a good experience with customer service whatsoever and not one that I would want to repeat in the future, so this hotel will not be seeing us in the fall when our trip to London is rebooked.

We stayed here to celebrate my friend's birthday. Upon entering, the lobby area had zero atmosphere - not on a par with other five star establishments. The room was nice (delightful toiletries and complimentary minibar) and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was great! What really let the hotel down was the pool area. It feels more like a leisure centre than a luxury five star hotel pool. There were only 4 loungers - ridiculous for a hotel of this size and the atmosphere felt quite 'cold' and not at all luxurious. Relaxing at the pool was one of the main aims of our trip, but it wasn't at all enjoyable. Massages were acceptable. Overall, I wouldn't return as there are much better five star establishments in London.
