🌿 OUT! Walking Social — Kew to Richmond Riverside

Fancy some fresh air, good company and the chance to meet new people?

Join us for our first OUT! Walking Social as we enjoy a relaxed riverside walk from Kew Bridge to Richmond, with coffee beforehand and pub drinks afterwards!

OUT! is all about casual walking and socialising — not hiking!

Walking is a brilliant natural icebreaker. There's no need for awkward introductions or organised activities. Just come along, enjoy the scenery and let conversations happen naturally.

🌈 Welcoming LGBTQ+ people and allies. Whether you're coming alone, with friends or bringing your dog, everyone is welcome.

Don't fancy the walk? No problem! You're equally welcome to join us just for coffee beforehand or meet us at the pub afterwards. Come along for whichever parts of the social suit you!
☕ 12pm — Pre-Walk Coffee Social

📍 One Over the Ait 8 Kew Bridge Road, Brentford, TW8 0FJ

We'll meet from midday for an informal coffee social before setting off.

This spacious, dog-friendly riverside pub serves coffee, tea, soft drinks and other refreshments, with areas for sitting or mingling.

It's a lovely opportunity to meet a few people before the walk begins.

You're welcome to come just for coffee, even if you're not joining the walk.

If you're walking but skipping coffee, please meet us outside One Over the Ait by 12:50pm.
🚶 1pm — Kew to Richmond Riverside Walk

📏 Distance: Approximately 5.6 km / 3.5 miles

⏱️ Duration: Around 1.5–2 hours at a relaxed social pace

🌳 Difficulty: Easy, mostly flat

🐕 Dog-friendly: Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome

We'll cross Kew Bridge and follow the Thames Path towards Richmond, passing beautiful riverside scenery, Kew Gardens and Richmond Lock along the way.

Expect a leisurely pace with plenty of opportunities to chat, change walking partners and enjoy the surroundings.

You don't need to be an experienced walker, but you should be comfortable walking around 5–6 km.

Some paths may be uneven, muddy or slippery in December, so please wear suitable footwear.
🍻 Around 3pm — Optional Pub Social

📍 The Cricketers Richmond Green, TW9 1LX

Once we've finished walking, we'll head to this traditional, dog-friendly pub overlooking Richmond Green.

Stay for a drink, grab something to eat or simply enjoy more conversation!

Not joining the walk? You're still very welcome to meet us directly at the pub from around 3pm.

The pub social is open to everyone attending OUT!, whether they've joined the walk or not. Feel free to stay as long as you like.
🚆 Getting There & Home

Getting there — Kew Bridge Station

Kew Bridge is served by South Western Railway, with services from London Waterloo via Vauxhall and Clapham Junction.

One Over the Ait is just a short walk from the station, beside Kew Bridge.

Local bus services also stop nearby, including the 65.

Getting home — Richmond Station

We'll finish in Richmond, which has excellent connections across London:

South Western Railway towards Clapham Junction and London Waterloo

District line towards central London

London Overground Mildmay line

Richmond Station is approximately 10 minutes' walk from our finishing pub.

Please check TfL or National Rail for any planned Sunday engineering works.
💚 Good to Know

Free to attend. Just pay for anything you choose to eat or drink.

Join your way! Coffee, walk, pub or all three — there's no pressure to do everything.

Coming alone? That's absolutely fine! These socials are designed to help people meet new faces.

We walk together at a comfortable pace, with no rushing or competition.

Dogs are welcome, but please keep them under control and on leads.

Dress for December weather and bring water if needed.

The walking route is mostly flat but isn't guaranteed to be fully step-free or wheelchair accessible.

In the event of severe weather or riverside access issues, we'll share any changes through Meetup.

Please RSVP if you're coming, even if you're only joining for coffee or the pub, so we have an idea of numbers.

🌈 Come for the walk, the coffee, the pub — or simply the company!

See you there!
