About the event

Zakuro Rising: Avant classical composer and performance artist RIEKO, known for her residencies at Tate, the ICA, and Turner Contemporary, is set to launch her new EP, titled Zakuro. The event will take place at Living Womb in Hackney Wick and will blend mindfulness, high fashion, and experimental pop.
Zakuro, which means pomegranate in Japanese, symbolises a Buddhist demon turned deity who protects mothers and children. The evening will begin with RIEKO’s signature Séances—a meditation workshop that combines improvised sound, reiki, and automatic writing. This will be accompanied by a crystal sound bath led by her mother. Following the workshop, RIEKO will perform the EP live, along with DJ sets and an exhibition featuring the artwork created for the record.
Zakuro Rising Line Up:
RIEKO (live), Yraki (DJ), HEZEN of playbody, with art by HYDRA, Lucy Feng, Jesse May Fisher and Detroit Law
