For some reason we really paid over the odds for this room. Room small and compact and whilst clean and tidy the beds are super uncomfortable. Staff friendly but gave us zero info. Biggest issue was being on third floor and no lifts. Stairs are steep and I couldn’t find anywhere where this was mentioned. We had backpacks but if you had bigger bags I struggle to see how you could get up and down safely.

Rooms were slightly better than expected. They were clean, spacious, had a little kitchenette.

I was really disappointed with this stay, especially compared to a previous visit to Nox Hotel a couple of years ago where we stayed in a top floor room and had a lovely experience. This time it felt like the hotel had seriously gone downhill. We booked a basement room with a jacuzzi bath in the room, which sounded nice in theory, but the reality was very different. The room felt cold, damp and quite dingy throughout our stay. The overall condition of the room was poor, with chipped and cracked paint, strange sticky marks on the walls, and cracked sealant around the bath area. The bath itself also wouldn’t drain properly, so we woke up the next morning to it still being full of water. There were also cracks in the flooring, which genuinely felt like a safety risk as they could easily cut your feet. The bed was another major issue. The tiny double bed felt incredibly hard, like sleeping on concrete, and it only came with two very thin pillows. We had to request extra pillows and an additional duvet because the room was so cold. To be fair, the receptionist did bring these items when asked, but unfortunately both the pillows and duvet had hairs in them that clearly weren’t from someone’s head, which was extremely off-putting and unhygienic. Overall, this was a very poor experience and absolutely not worth the price. The room was advertised at £185, and although we managed to get a mobile-only deal for £165.60, even that felt far too expensive for the quality provided. It’s a shame because we previously had such a positive impression of the hotel, but this stay felt tired, neglected and far below the standard expected for the price.

Good price for the area, rooms come with everything you need. Quiet place with enough around to keep you busy for a day. Will be coming back nwxt time im in Richmond.
