The Wellington Hotel, Waterloo

Unfortunately, the hotel photos didn't quite live up to expectations. The bathroom wasn't in great condition, and the hotel is located opposite Waterloo Station – very convenient, but also noisy at night. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are rather small, but adequate for sleeping, even though the bed is only 1.40 meters wide.

Big pub/hotel that's recently been refurbished and what a great job they have done. Amazing welcome from the team and a superb range of beers. The London Pride was exceptional. Solid range of food, tasty wines and plenty of drink choices. Lots of areas to have a sprawl, the pub specialises in showing sport and the multiple screens show plenty of alternatives to football. Great place to start your journey from Waterloo station

Went to the wellington for the first time I believe it's had a refurbishment the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Me and my wife had a meal, I was served by a big man I believe he was the manager everyone seems to know him , will definitely be back next time I'm in London

All the staff was welcoming and kind. They let us store our bags before our room was available so we could go and sightsee. Very clean and breakfast was lovely. It is also in a great location and surprisingly quiet as it is above a pub and right next to Waterloo station. Easy bus access. We stayed on the third floor and there were quite a few stairs so keep that in mind. Would stay definitely stay again.

AVOID Easily the worst pub in London I have been in let alone Waterloo!! And I have visited a fair few!! Bar staff extremely rude and unprofessional and tried to rip me off when I very clearly ordered a single shot and tried to charge me for a double!! No apology just met with rudeness. Luckily I noticed. The card system then didn’t work and I had to scan my card 5 times, hopefully I was not charged, however they made me feel like that was my fault. Worse than that the unprofessional people behind the bar started to moan about me to other customers about their mistake and system issues. I mean how unprofessional and clearly they need training on customer service, learn manners or find a job more suited…. Something away from hospitality for sure! The place absolutely stunk of fish too!! Take my advice go somewhere else you won’t regret it with so many better places in the proximity

Told rudely can’t sit somewhere for no good reason and bar staff had no idea what they were doing. Customer service very poor.

I had a really lovely stay at the Wellington Hotel. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived. I had quite a lot of luggage with me, and as there is no lift, they kindly moved me to a room on the first floor, which made a big difference and was much appreciated. I stayed in the family room, which was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable, the pillows were lovely, and I slept really well. I had been slightly concerned about noise, but the double windows worked very well and I did not hear anything during the night. The bathroom was also very nice, with a good shower and lovely toiletries. The room had plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits and water, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was excellent, with a buffet as well as à la carte choices. Everything tasted really good and there was a nice selection. Overall, this was a great find: good location, good value for money, comfortable rooms, and very kind and helpful staff. I would happily stay here again.

Met there with a group I belong to. They gave us our own area at the side of the bar. Staff were friendly and helpful. No long wait at bar for drinks or food. Lovely atmosphere. Right next to Waterloo station
