About this place Sweatbox Soho

Sweatbox Soho is one of London's most centrally located gay saunas, tucked above a bar on Wardour Street in the heart of Soho. Despite its relatively compact size compared to some competitors, Sweatbox is well-equipped with steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, private cabins and a rest area. Its prime location makes it an easy stop before or after a night out on the Soho scene.

This sauna left a very bad impression on me because of one extremely rude staff. I handed over my phone and other belongings when I entered. Later, I asked that staff to get my locker key back because I needed my phone charger. He told me that once items were placed in the rocker at check-in, they could not be accessed till leaving. This rule wasn’t explained at all when I entered. When I asked how I was supposed to charge my phone then, he just kept repeating the same thing instead of trying to help. Another frustrating experience happened after my shower. My hair was wet and I was cold, so I went to dry it. The same staff told me not to go to changing area. However, the hair dryer was only located there. Even after I explained that I was simply drying my hair, he just kept saying “No.” These unreasonable rules made absolutely no sense to me. But since he’s bald, maybe he simply doesn’t understand what it’s like for people who actually have hair…

I've been here ince before - it was pleasant. I was looking forward to going again in July but my god the reviews are shockingly bad! Like why hasn't the staff and hygiene issues just been dealt with straight away when they 1st started becoming the main issues with customers?? I find it interesting how Sweatbox only replies to the less negative reviews which leads me to think ye are delusional and ignorance is bliss. It also seems that everyone wants this sauna to do well and to be amazing but ye just can't seem to get it together. Shame!

Had a really great time at Naked Night on Tuesday at SweatBox. The atmosphere was friendly, relaxed, and welcoming, and there was a good crowd throughout the evening. I felt comfortable, had fun, and enjoyed the whole experience. Definitely one of the highlights of my week, and I’d happily go again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
