Pleasuredrome is a big gay sauna in London, tucked under the railway arches in Waterloo.
This place has awards, and it’s one of the largest dedicated gay saunas in the city. You get a pool, a gym, and plenty of space to just hang out. Most gay saunas in London are a good place for queer men to meet discreetly, and Pleasuredrome is no different.
You can go for a swim, work out, or just relax after a day of sightseeing. It's a spot where you'll find other travelers and locals, all in a space designed specifically for queer men.
It's at Arch 124, Cornwall Road, London SE1 8XE, which is easy to get to from pretty much anywhere in London. For hours, what’s inside, or membership details, check their website: pleasuredrome.com.

After Mighty Hoopla, some friends and I decided to go to the sauna. We had an amazing night. The sauna was clean, they were always cleaning it. It was busy, maybe because of the festival. The guys at reception, Balint and Doug, were lovely and very friendly. They explained everything since it was our first time. 🥰 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’ve been to Pleasuredrome plenty of times before and never had any issues. I decided to go tonight, I hadn’t been drinking at all, but when I got to the door the security guard took one look at me and decided to not let me in because he thought I was drunk. I asked him to elaborate on why he thought I was drunk, and he refused to explain and told me to come back another time. He was incredibly aggressive for no apparent reason. I understand that drunk people come to saunas late at night, and this isn’t an uncommon occurrence but there was no reason for him to suspect I had been drinking, because I hadn’t been. There was no breathalyser test or temperature test I could have done to prove I was sober, so I had just travelled about an hour for no reason.

If your idea of a relaxing spa day includes paying a premium entry fee just to be forced into exhibitionism, welcome to Pleasuredrome under Waterloo! Let’s talk about the room situation—or lack thereof. Silly me, I assumed paying the standard admission entry would grant me access to, you know, a basic cabin to use. Absolutely not. Apparently, having four walls and a door that locks is an elite luxury here. Almost all the private rooms and "deluxe pods" require you to march back to reception and hand over extra cash on an hourly meter. If you don't pay up, your options are basically zero. So, if you happen to prefer a little privacy, you're entirely out of luck. However, if you absolutely love public encounters, audience participation, and putting on a live performance for a rotating crowd of spectators, this place is an absolute goldmine! It forces everyone out into the open cruising areas, turning the entire venue into a mandatory interactive theater. To make the vibe even more relaxing, the sheer volume of security and cameras makes you feel like you're trying to sneak contraband into a high-security prison. Between the CCTV glare and the complete monetization of basic privacy, the whole experience is just pure, unadulterated administrative chaos. Save your money. Unless you want to budget for a room rental on top of your entry fee, or you just really, really love an audience, go somewhere else!
