Clonezone opened on Old Compton Street in 1982 and has not left it since. The original address at number 64 closed in 2013; the current shop at number 35 is larger and carries more of everything the store became known for: queer clothing, underwear from the international circuit brands, harnesses, leather goods, sex toys, lubricants, and a pride section that expands around June. The store runs late, particularly Thursday through Saturday when it stays open until 11pm — useful for anyone finishing dinner or a drink in Soho before they kit out for the night. Sunday hours start at noon. It is the straightforwardly commercial side of Old Compton Street: no pretension, good stock depth, and the kind of shop that works for a first-time visitor and a seasoned regular equally.
