We visited James Martin Manchester for a gathering of nine, and the entire evening was an absolute triumph from start to finish. Having pre-ordered from the à la carte menu, everything arrived seamlessly without a single hitch. The culinary standard across the board was remarkably high, balancing genuine technical skill with hearty, generous portions. A particularly discerning guest in our party declared the lamb to be the finest he had ever tasted, while the pork chop was cooked to utter perfection—tender, beautifully presented, and paired with thoughtful, impeccably prepared accompaniments. To finish, the chocolate soufflé delivered precisely what one hopes for: exquisitely light, rich and decadent, providing a splendid close to the meal. The drinks menu did not disappoint, either. Our table sampled everything from craft cocktails and fine wines to soft drinks, and each was expertly mixed and poured. What truly elevated the evening, however, was the relaxed and attentive service. Our waiter, Shiraz, looked after our party of nine with consummate professionalism and warmth. He kept everyone wonderfully hydrated, ensuring wine and water glasses were never left empty, while pacing the meal with great intuition—allowing well-judged pauses between courses so we never felt rushed. A thoroughly delightful dining experience that exceeded expectations on every front. We will certainly be returning.

Overall we enjoy the atmosphere and the food. But our servant Vikki/Vicki isn’t really on top of things. She wasn’t paying attention of her served tables and needs her colleague to remind her that we need to refill the water for tea. Her attitude wasn’t really polite when we say we want to pay less service charge and also not polite when she reminded us our time has finished. We also waited some time to pay because she wasn’t really looking at us. When we say we wanna pay less service charge, she asked us any feedback for the food or the service in a way that makes us feel uncomfortable. To be honest, I was ok that she wasn’t really paying attention to her served tables, but I’m not happy that she questioned us why we didn’t pay the full service charges. Her attitude and manners definitely need to be changed.
