I recently stayed at this hotel in Solihull and had a very pleasant experience. The location is excellent: just 5 miles from the airport, about 8 to 9 miles from Coventry, and very close to Birmingham. A huge bonus is the large, free on-site car park. The hotel has an older and a newer section. I started in the older part, towards the back near the car park. It was clean and perfectly fine, but the bedsheets had accidentally been left off. Since no housekeeping staff was available at that hour, the team reacted incredibly quickly and professionally. Within minutes, they friendly offered me a new room in the newer section and even asked if I needed help moving. The new room was an accessible, disabled-friendly room with a walk-in shower—very modern and clean. Breakfast was another highlight: a delicious, freshly prepared traditional British breakfast served in a spacious room by lovely staff. Very good value for money—I would definitely stay here again!
Stayed here overnight with airport parking included. Nice clean room and bathroom. Included hospitality tray which was appreciated.
Lovely quiet location although this also limited options within walking for food. There were a couple of pubs up the road but highly priced for pub food and both had very loud music on.... Rooms were basic but clean and comfy Staff were helpful when asked. Some noise during night fron other guests as wedding party in
The absence of air conditioning in the rooms is a major problem for this hotel.
As the saying goes, "All show and no substance!" This perfectly describes the Manor Hotel Solihull. From the front, the hotel has the charm of a large English country house. The view from the rooms—most of which face the back across several floors—is unbelievable: you're staring at a dreary, slatted plywood wall. This is unworthy of a hotel in this category, but unfortunately, it's true. (See the attached photo at the end of the review). The reception staff at check-in are somewhat arrogant and unempathetic, and they don't exactly welcome guests warmly. The rooms—we rented two deluxe rooms for a few days—are okay, but not worth the price. If you go to the hotel's restaurant in the evening, you'll get a decent meal, provided you're willing to wait at least an hour for your food to arrive after ordering a plated dish.
