What reviewers say

Visitors often praise the hotel's excellent location, generous free parking, and friendly staff, with some finding their rooms clean and comfortable. However, a significant recurring complaint is the lack of air conditioning in the rooms, and some guests have found the beer to be expensive and served warm.

Hello, We are extremely disappointed with our experience at Manor Hotel on the nights of 18 and 19 June. We had five rooms booked under the name Sundaram for two nights + two rooms booked for 1 night as part of our wedding celebrations. What should have been a happy and memorable occasion turned into an absolute nightmare. Firstly, when we originally viewed the hotel, we were shown rooms in a wing with lift access. As several members of our group are over 80 years old and have significant mobility limitations, we specifically requested lift access when making our booking months in advance. Had we been told that suitable rooms could not be provided, we would have made alternative arrangements. Instead, there was no communication whatsoever regarding this request. On arrival, our elderly relatives were forced to walk long distances through the hotel and climb multiple flights of stairs while carrying luggage. This was completely unacceptable given the accessibility requirements we had clearly communicated in advance. To make matters worse, my 83-year-old grandfather slipped and fell in the bathtub in his room. Thankfully he was not seriously injured, but it was an extremely frightening experience for him and for our family on what should have been one of the most important days of our lives. There were also significant issues with the room allocations. One room had only been booked for a single night, and we were happy to pay any legitimate additional charge relating to that room. However, my partner and I did not stay in another room for the second night, meaning there should effectively have been spare capacity within our booking. Aside from the one room booked for a single night, all other rooms were booked for both nights. We were therefore extremely confused when we were told that some rooms were not available because they had all been checked into. The explanation simply does not make sense. This was a private wedding booking. Our guests had travelled from across the country and overseas specifically for this event. We do not have random guests appearing unexpectedly, so we will not be accepting vague explanations for what appears to have been poor management of our booking. We were also surprised by the apparent lack of ID checks during check-in. Given the confusion surrounding room allocations, this raises serious questions about how rooms were being assigned and whether proper procedures were being followed. I want to make it clear that the reception staff themselves were polite, professional and clearly doing their best. Unfortunately, it was equally clear that they had not been properly briefed or given the authority to resolve the issues we encountered. The complete lack of communication regarding accessibility requirements, the unnecessary stress caused by the room allocation issues, the additional charges on the day, and the distress caused to our elderly family members resulted in one of the worst hotel experiences we could have imagined on our wedding day. Accessibility is not an optional extra. We made our requirements known months in advance and received no warning that they could not be accommodated. Had we been informed, we could have planned accordingly. Instead, we were left to deal with the consequences on the day itself. We believe compensation is warranted and would appreciate a prompt response explaining how these issues occurred and how you intend to address them. I rarely leave negative reviews, but the experience we received was simply unacceptable. Kindly revert back else we will be escalating this matter to further authorities due to the seriousness of health and safety issues.

I recently stayed at this hotel in Solihull and had a very pleasant experience. The location is excellent: just 5 miles from the airport, about 8 to 9 miles from Coventry, and very close to Birmingham. A huge bonus is the large, free on-site car park. The hotel has an older and a newer section. I started in the older part, towards the back near the car park. It was clean and perfectly fine, but the bedsheets had accidentally been left off. Since no housekeeping staff was available at that hour, the team reacted incredibly quickly and professionally. Within minutes, they friendly offered me a new room in the newer section and even asked if I needed help moving. The new room was an accessible, disabled-friendly room with a walk-in shower—very modern and clean. Breakfast was another highlight: a delicious, freshly prepared traditional British breakfast served in a spacious room by lovely staff. Very good value for money—I would definitely stay here again!

Stayed here overnight with airport parking included. Nice clean room and bathroom. Included hospitality tray which was appreciated.

Lovely quiet location although this also limited options within walking for food. There were a couple of pubs up the road but highly priced for pub food and both had very loud music on.... Rooms were basic but clean and comfy Staff were helpful when asked. Some noise during night fron other guests as wedding party in

The absence of air conditioning in the rooms is a major problem for this hotel.
