What reviewers say

Visitors frequently praise the friendly and accommodating staff, cosy atmosphere, and excellent food, particularly the breakfast. However, a common complaint is that the rooms are too dark due to dim lighting and small windows, with some also noting a need for more attention to deep cleaning in bathrooms.

Have mixed feelings about this stay. The rooms interior as pictured but it was so dark in there! Not very comfortable, would prefer to be able to adjust the lighting, though there were only two sources of lighting of a very dim nature - seemed weird and totally dark in the evening. The window is equally too small to give more light in, and the view was facing a dirty wall/roof. So, definitely looked a lot nicer on the pictures presented on booking.com. Liked the evening in the pub followed by a stroll in the village, though the stretch is only 5 mins until you hit the less well lit area. The English breakfast was ok, had better in other places. Weirdly, they attempted to charge my card multiple times after checking out for what was explained to be the difference between the kids and adult breakfast. First of all, that should have been communicated prior order, and definitely not being charged after check out, when we literally left to get into the car. That seemed dodge, spoke with them and to their curtesy they said it was sorted but did not resonate with me. The prices in the pub are equal to London which is shocking! Will not come back.

Stayed here last night and everything was perfect from the accommodating staff to the cosy rooms, came down for breakfast this morning and was greeted by more friendly faces. Very enjoyable stay, will be returning :)

Perfect location for the NEC but in a lovely village, so away from the city. 16th century coaching in with original features and cosy rooms. Highly recommend. Will be back when I'm next at the NEC.

Food excellent, well cooked, good choice and very tasty. Rooms were good, comfy, quiet with everything you need BUT could do with better lighting in bedroom. Central light fitting has been replaced by a decorative feature and with small windows due to the age of the building the room was quite dark
