Had to book last minute because of a mishap on my part. The staff were rude and not welcoming at all, the room was hot due to lack of air conditioning. Very dated. A fan at least was provided, but not ideal. The bathroom was usable, but again very dated. There was a tv, but it’s very small, and the signal kept on dropping out. I would not recommend staying here.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Britannia Hotel Coventry, and by "pleasure" I mean it was a fascinating glimpse into what archaeologists must feel when they discover a perfectly preserved building from several decades ago. The room appeared to have been lovingly maintained using a strict "if it hasn't completely fallen off yet, leave it alone" policy. Every surface told a story, although most of those stories seemed to involve a lack of investment since the early 2000s. The décor was a bold tribute to faded glory, and the general condition suggested that preventative maintenance is viewed more as a hobby than a necessity. A special mention must go to the reception team, who demonstrated an almost supernatural ability to avoid being helpful. Questions were met with expressions suggesting I had interrupted something far more important, such as staring into the middle distance. It takes genuine talent to make a guest feel like they're inconveniencing staff simply by existing. On the positive side, the experience has given me a newfound appreciation for every other hotel I've ever stayed in. For that valuable life lesson alone, I am grateful. Would I stay again? Only if every Premier Inn, Travelodge, spare sofa, garden shed and reasonably dry bus shelter within a 50-mile radius was fully booked.

We were late on the group tour, which apparently has been the case for years, and we practically had to shove our dinner down our throats while plates were snatched from under our noses. Grubby carpeting both above and in the rooms, and showering in the bathtub with a sticky curtain🤨😬😮‍💨 not exactly the welcome you hope for, and a smile is nowhere to be found👎

Rude and unattentive staff. Downgraded my room without notifying me,(Enough i paid for a double.) Poorly managed. Very dated room. Not a 3 star hotel. More of a bedsit.

The room itself was fine for one night. The bathroom was a mixture of dirty and outdated. Wouldn't have used that shower if you paid me.
