Oakford Social Club

Oakford Social Club sits on Blagrave Street in the heart of Reading town centre, a couple of minutes' walk from the railway station. It's a lively pub and late bar spread over several rooms, and it has become the most reliably LGBTQ+-friendly spot in town. The venue hosts regular drag and cabaret nights — typically monthly, with touring performers that have included RuPaul's Drag Race alumni — alongside a 'Love Pride' party around Reading Pride each September. With Reading no longer having a dedicated gay bar since the Blagrave Arms closed at the end of 2025, the Oakford has become the town's main queer-friendly gathering point, and it stands directly opposite the assembly point for the annual Reading Pride parade.
