The Purple Turtle

The purple turtle is within Reading folk law. The area that this venue suffers is staff: Unprofessional, arrogant, dont pay attention and lazy. I have a video recording to back up my claim. Sack all of them and employ, hardworking, polite, clean and tidy listeners; you would increase your turnover by £100,000 pa. Beft if luck.

Utterly appalling and discriminatory. My friend who has a joint disability who rolled her ankles went to go in and they accused her of being drunk. She was not and was just exhibiting signs of her disability

Unfortunately new DJ doesn’t understand why Purple Turtle became popular. Plays every song in full regardless of reaction. Place is noticeably less popular. Please elther train or get rid! Has ruined a Friday night. No proper DJ should be playinf the same set in full and ignoring reactions.

I have a disability that makes my ankles weak (hEDS). They refused me entry based on the fact I was ‘falling around’, when I’d had three drinks and was wearing heels so due to my disability I was weakly jointed in heels anyway and said I was too drunk to enter. When offered my disability pass and to test to do any sobriety tests, the female bouncer said no and I was dismissed. As a law student, this is entirely discriminatory and completely illegal. I expect some sort of remedy or rectofication. For the record, the woman who denied me entry based on my disability was a bodyguard that was about 5’9, blonde female. She was extremely rude and refused to listen to my explanation

Great place live music

Great venue , quirky and fun . Toilets on first floor I didn't see a lift , so up stairs . Might be worth bearing in mind if you have poor mobility. Really enjoyed my evening there.
