Nice hotel, spacious room
So basically, it was not first time we stayed in this hotel, although our house just 5 minutes away from this hotel.Mostly in emergency we stayed here firstly when our house was getting renovated, secondly a week ago we got pest control in our house and 3rd time yesterday again got pest control in our house. It was mandatory stay out for 3-4 hours so we booked the room to sleep and finish our pending work . When we were on reception there was a lady who handover the keys to us and I told her the issue we faced on recent visit, the bedsheet was not changed and it was used ,a lot of satin on it(on that day when we asked on reception the guys on that day refused to change by giving the reason he is alone on reception so it’s quite difficult for him).So when I brief the recent issue she said ok wait let me check your room first.she came back after 5 minutes by saying everything is ok.my husband was in shower and he noticed there is no shower gel he used shampoo on his body as he already started the shower.we went on reception and asked her for it she came to us after 10 minutes and handover to us, even though I asked her how to put it in the standing holder.she said yea it will just go straight.Till now it was still normal to us.But at the night time we hear a knock knock and opened the door,it was another receptionist he said may be our windows are open and the guest just in down room getting disturbed as we were talking so we closed the window(AC was not working but we were really discussing about our business which was so important),at 3’o clock guest came by himself with the receptionist guy and saying now he’s getting disturbed when we are walking and floor is making noise),we apologised by knowing the fact it was not our intention and fault.next morning when we were checking out same lady who was on the check in time, start the conversation oh so someone making complaints you guys were making noise night time,I just start explaining what went gone wrong she got offended somewhere with a bad face. However it was not needed as the problem got solved on the same time.(we were really taking baby steps after got to know someone getting disturbed when we are walking). She said you guys were dancing then it was Really pissed off and seemed she’s being rude out of know reason). If we were dancing then why there was no music,i mean a family who just staying in the hotel in an emergency, will dance?) May be I’m wrong but it’s my intuition she literally judging us because we were in not in good condition when check in as we didn’t know we have to go out in short time). My intuition says these things the way she was looking at us on the check in time and check out time). I was so pissed off ,like we did not argue or made any complaint about our bad experiences whether it’s dirty used bedsheet,Ac not working, getting disturbed unnecessarily.i think we being targeted and harassed. I just saw other negative reviews where I found getting disturbed by other people’s voice doesn’t mean they are loud when hotel rooms are not sound proof,Thanks to god I read them otherwise somewhere I was in guilt Do we Really disturb others?
The staff and the chef were very kind and welcoming. Our rooms air conditioning didn’t work and we were very hot. But the staff gave us fans to make the room cooler and gave us multiple options to try help. The bedsheet were dirty and had stains, there was a cleaning cloth and a dirty pillowcase in our room for over 2 days we had to remove it ourselves.
Very hot room with no AC they have old Ac not working.
I had a great experience at Mercure over the weekend. The staff were extremely polite and professional, and the room was clean and comfortable. There was also a 'Hydration station' where visitors could get ice cold lemon water at reception which was perfect in this heat! The only issue I experienced was that the air conditioning in the room was not working very well, which was difficult in the heat. I also wanted to give a special mention to the night receptionist, Marvellous, who was exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and accommodating during my stay. He went out of his way to make sure everything was okay and was always approachable and positive whenever I spoke with him. His excellent customer service really stood out and made a genuine difference to my experience. Overall, I would definitely stay again. Thanks a lot! :)
I had a fantastic stay at the Mercure Sheffield Parkway and was genuinely impressed from the moment I arrived. Check‑in was quick, efficient, and handled with a warm welcome, which set the tone for the rest of my visit. The staff were incredibly friendly throughout my stay and consistently created a positive, welcoming atmosphere — it really made a difference. The hotel’s location is excellent, with easy access to Sheffield, Rotherham, and nearby attractions, making it a convenient base for both business and leisure. My room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, offering plenty of room to relax after a busy day. The food was another highlight. Everything I tried was really nice, with great quality ingredients and plenty of flavour. It’s clear the kitchen team take pride in what they serve. Overall, this was a brilliant stay with great service, comfortable accommodation, and a genuinely friendly team. I’d happily recommend Mercure Sheffield Parkway to anyone visiting the area.
