What reviewers say

Visitors frequently praise the beautiful riverside location and friendly, helpful staff, with some rooms described as spacious, clean, and comfortable with stunning views. However, many reviewers complain about the hotel being dated and in need of refurbishment, with issues like uncomfortable beds, poor cleanliness in public areas and bathrooms, and thin walls leading to noise disturbances.

About this place Warren Lodge Hotel

Warren Lodge Hotel is an older, low-rise hotel on Church Square in Shepperton village, backing onto the Thames. It's a mainstream, gay-friendly hotel, not a gay venue. Rooms are simple and some have river views. There's an on-site restaurant. Reviews are mixed (3.7 on Google from about 580), so it suits travellers who want the riverside village setting more than polished rooms. Shepperton station has trains to London Waterloo, and Hampton Court and Heathrow are a short drive away.

The rooms were very hot to sleep in...a fan was provided but didn't do much. I asked for a sheet rather than a quilt and it was duly provided. The room was very clean and tea and coffee provided. I couldn't get any hot water in the bathroom so cold showers it was. The breakfast was OK...nothing special with an undercooked poached egg and fatty bacon. The staff were friendly and helpful.

This is a lovely historic hotel in a beautiful church square overlooking the Thames, waterbirds, small boats, wild swimmers. The room was large, clean and comfortable. With beautiful view of the river. The young man at reception and at the bar was very polite and welcoming. Our evening meal was tasty and with a generous gift of the second meal for just £1. Overall lovely night at this hotel.

The rings are hit and miss, generally nice and clean but very thin walls and creaky floors. Showers take ages to heat up, I'd at all. Not ideal if you're in a hurry in the morning.

I have stayed in many hotels in the area over the years as I have family near by, this by far has been the best hotel and the only one I shall look to book in the future
