Village Hotel Swansea

Stayed at Village Hotel Swansea during my son’s graduation and had a very pleasant experience. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The breakfast staff were especially friendly and welcoming, making for a great start to the day. It was also a bonus to have the leisure centre in the same building, and the pub was excellent, serving fresh beer with a smile in a relaxed atmosphere. The only issue was that the air conditioning in our room wasn’t working. However, the hotel handled the situation well by giving us complimentary access to the gym facilities, which was a thoughtful gesture and much appreciated. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend Village Hotel Swansea to anyone visiting the area.

I went to the bar and grill, Charlotte behind the bar isa fantastic bar person, really accommodating and always a smile. I had a chili burger.....the best I ever had to be honest...compliments to the chef!

Our stay at the Village Hotel Swansea could have been one of the most pleasant hotel experiences we've had anywhere in the world, which makes it even more disappointing to leave anything less than a five-star review. From the moment we arrived, everything was exceptional. The check-in process was seamless, and every member of staff we encountered—from the reservations team and reception staff to the breakfast team—was professional, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely committed to providing excellent customer service. They are an absolute credit to the hotel and deserve recognition for the outstanding experience they delivered. Sadly, all of that was overshadowed by one major issue: the air conditioning in our room was not working and so was that of my Son's friend (U4 AC alarm was showing on the controller display screen with a spanner image). During one of the hottest heatwaves the UK has experienced, having no functioning air conditioning turned what should have been a comfortable and relaxing night's stay into a very uncomfortable and sleepless one. What is particularly disappointing is that this doesn't appear to be an isolated incident. Having since read a number of previous guest reviews mentioning the same problem, it is clear that the issue has been ongoing. It is difficult to understand why the air conditioning had not been properly maintained or repaired before our arrival, especially during a period of exceptionally high temperatures. Equally concerning was the apparent lack of an on-call maintenance engineer to resolve the issue. The warmth and friendliness of the Welsh people, combined with the dedication and professionalism of the hotel staff, made us genuinely want to love our stay. Unfortunately, the failure to address such a fundamental aspect of guest comfort completely overshadowed what could have been a truly memorable experience. This review is certainly not a criticism of the staff, who did everything within their power to help. Rather, it is directed at the hotel's management and maintenance procedures. When guests are paying for a quality hotel experience, basic facilities such as climate control should be fully operational, particularly when the country is experiencing extreme weather. I sincerely hope the management takes notice of the growing number of reviews raising the same concern and finally resolves the issue. Once this is addressed, I have no doubt the Village Hotel Swansea has the potential to be one of the best places to stay. Until then, however, I cannot in good conscience award the five stars that the wonderful staff so richly deserve.

Very good Hotel. Great parking and location near to the waterfront. Central to campus locations. Good rooms, food, bar and service. Definitely would stay again.

Wonderful service on reception from a gentleman called Harsh and from all leisure club staff. Very enjoyable experience.

Friendly, Warm and Welcoming Staff. Great gym/pool space, great food and entertainment in the bar, and Starbucks is always a good choice to chill out and recharge

So unhygienic in the pool/spa area! Clean the floors they are absolutely filthy and smelly, especially in the changing rooms! Also, what is the point of having an ice bath if it is always not working??
