New Hotel Charlemagne

The reception service was disappointing upon my arrival at 23h30 on 2 June 2026. The staff, a man aged around 60y, seemed uninterested and unhelpful, and check-in took much longer than expected. Overall, the welcome was far from professional and negatively affected my stay. I definitively do not recommend.

Although it's a bit old and that's noticeable in some things in the room like the carpet or the lack of air conditioning, it's very well priced, the staff are very friendly, and it's well located.

Too hot, no air conditioner

€150 per night We entered the room to find ants on the table and on the bed... the fridge and air conditioning weren't working... We changed rooms, no ants, but the air conditioning and fridge still weren't working, and there was a hole in the sheets. Last attempt: everything worked, but there was no terrace in the room, even though I had paid for it... The only positive point was the proximity to the metro and the European Quarter. And Miguel, the hotel receptionist, was really nice and did everything he could to find us the best solution.

Room was nice. Confortable bad, hot water in the shower.

Stayed for one night; clean and tidy. A bit dated, but everything was provided. Since we were attending an event nearby, booking through Opodo was the best value for money. You can easily walk into town.

Sevim, one of the hotel staff members, was absolutely delightful. From the moment we arrived, she welcomed us with such kindness and took care of all our requests with genuine attention. She even gave us an upgrade, which made our stay extra special, and personally walked us to our room. The next day, she checked in to see if we had rested well — such a thoughtful touch. Honestly, she made the whole experience feel warm and memorable. I highly recommend this hotel, especially because of the exceptional service. Thank you, Sevim, for making our stay so wonderful.

The stay at this hotel was very pleasant and comfortable. The room was clean, well-equipped and quiet, which allowed for a full rest after a long day in the city. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was neat, and everything worked without problems.

Good location, quiet, good room for the price and excellent customer service. Breakfast is 3* because they don't serve English breakfast and I'm not a fun of milk and wholegrain breakfast.
