Excellent location near the central station and metro

Positive points: It's next to the central station and the breakfast was good. Negative points: To get the elevator you have to climb one flight of stairs on the ground floor and then another on your floor), the room wasn't cleaned during the 5 days we stayed, the room and bathroom were very small, and it was extremely hot (the window only opened a small part, there was no air conditioning, just a small fan).

First of all, the hotel's location was excellent, right in the center. It's located on the street right in front of the train station. We came to the hotel from the airport by taxi, but you can also get there by train. Its location is truly very central. It's a 3-minute walk from Tivoli Gardens. We really enjoyed the breakfast; we had fresh food every morning. Our room was very clean, and we also loved that there was no smoking in the hotel; you couldn't smell any cigarette smoke anywhere. The underfloor heating in the bathrooms was another nice detail. The reception and hotel staff were always friendly and helpful whenever we needed them. The hotel's free internet was also very fast.

Nice hotel. Good location and very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Expensive, but that's typical throughout Copenhagen.

Stayed here in mid April for 3 nights to begin my vacation in Denmark. Taking the train from CPH to Copenhagen Central station, the hotel was about a 10 minute walk away. Very easy to find. I arrived at 7am after a red eye flight from the US. The reception is available 24/7 and I was able to store my luggage before check in for a fee of about $15 USD (but in local currency DKK). With great relief I dropped off my luggage used my own lock and went to tour the city. Hotel Ansgar is clean, receptionist were all friendly, welcoming, a wonderful resource, and the rooms were clean. Breakfast buffet was amazing and totally worth the 129DKK ($20 USD). I believe this breakfast fee is for my entire stay and no per day. The hotel itself has many stairs to the elevator at every level except the top floor (heard from another guest). Its like 8 stairs up to elevator from reception and then another 8 stairs up after elevator to room. The rooms itself were very clean, had window, desk, open closet, and a private bathroom. I was very pleased. Just enough space. There was room under the bed to store my large suitcase. The room offered a small mini fridge (very small compared to the states and not as cool barely cool enough to refridgeorate food - think drinks). No microwave, a kettle with complimentary coffee and black tea with cream and sugar. One weird thing I have never seen before that seems common in Denmark is that once you use the hotel key card to enter into room to use the lights you have to place the card into a holder. This is a energy saving feature that I appreciated. I enjoyed my stay so much that I cancelled a reservation at another hotel I booked and rebooked with Hotel Ansgar prior to my return flight to the states.

Very small and minimal rooms but equipped with everything necessary and suitable for a short stay

Have used Ansgar before ideal location for Central Station and also Metro. Half hour walk through shopping streets.
