We ended up in the waiting room at the cathedral for a short stay because our train was delayed. Kadir made sure we were well-fed and refreshed before heading back to Bremen. Many thanks for the excellent service and the superb food. We'll definitely visit you again on our next trip to Cologne. Best regards from T. and M.

We were there for the over-50s party. We enjoyed it, good DJ, bar was overwhelmed at times!

Last Friday, on my way back to the hotel, I planned to have a good espresso there. It used to be such a nice way to end the day – a really hot, strong Italian espresso. My disappointment was immense. The espresso was lukewarm and had the bare minimum of coffee. I complained, and the bartender, who knew a lot more, obviously didn't know enough about how to make a proper espresso. He then proceeded to lecture me on various points before making me a new one. It was hot, but again without crema, and it was just plain awful. It's a shame, because for the price, it could have been a really good one, but those days are long gone… It's a pity, but now I know… That's not how quality should be…

Wow, I was there for #MidnightSpice.

With today's weather, you really want to sit outside. All the tables were in the shade except for the ones at the edge. I politely asked if I could sit there. The answer: no, the terrace is closed. I tried to find a compromise, even offering to make the table myself for Isabel 🤷🏻‍♀️ but nothing worked. A young couple behind me were also immediately told off for walking past the lady without asking. Gaffel am Dom has sunshine and everyone is very nice ✌️

The best Kit Kat parties were held at your place 10-15 years ago, I fondly remember those times, it was the best location :-)

A real disappointment. I hadn't eaten at the Waiting Room in a long time, but I remember the excellent food and great service. So the result I recently had on my plate was all the more appalling. The salad with goat cheese was swimming in a yogurt-cream dressing (completely inappropriate!), the leaves were wilted and brown, and the goat cheese was more than just chewy. The children's dish, explicitly ordered for a child, "Spaghetti," cost €21 and was swimming in basil and garlic oil. It was inedible even for us adults. The potato salad and Wiener Schnitzel were also rated as poor average by the accompanying adults. What a shame! I immediately told the waiter about the salad, and two-thirds of the plate went back. The full price of €21.50 was still charged! The "generous" espresso offered was lukewarm. Definitely not worth another visit. A real shame!

The glory days are long gone. Our visit to the "Wartesaal am Dom" (Waiting Room at the Cathedral) felt more like a run-of-the-mill pub than a culinary haven. The schnitzel was so-so: not bad, but nothing to make your taste buds sing. My companion's steak was inferior to the schnitzel in both taste and quality, and the fish dish my wife was served was incredibly spicy, unfortunately without any warning. Even dessert couldn't redeem the experience. Drowning our frustration in a Kölsch beer wasn't an option either, as it was flat and not at all refreshing that evening. Everyone at the table had expected much more and won't be returning!
