À propos de cet événement

Cork Pride is Ireland's second-biggest, and 2026 is a reset. The organisation that ran it for years, Cork LGBT+ Pride, went into liquidation, and a new grassroots group of volunteers, Cork Community Pride, has taken over — scaling the event back from a week-long festival to a tighter, community-run core over the August bank-holiday weekend, 1–2 August. The 2026 theme, "Celebrate the Past, Fight for the Future," is the organisers' way of saying they're going back to the roots.

The weekend has two anchors. On Saturday 1 August there's a free Pride Family Picnic in Fitzgerald's Park — bouncy castles, face-painting, a dog show, food trucks. Then on Sunday 2 August the Pride Parade fills the city centre: it gathers on the Grand Parade from 1pm and moves off at 2pm, down the South Mall, up Patrick Street and back to the Grand Parade, where a stage runs acts, DJs and speakers through the afternoon. It's free and open to everyone.

A separate, independently organised Trans+ Pride Cork march also takes place around the same time; check its own channels for details.

Practical notes: Cork's centre is compact and walkable, and the parade route runs through its heart. Cork is about 2.5 hours by train from Dublin. Early August in Ireland means pack for rain whatever the forecast. Check corkcommunitypride.ie for the full 2026 programme.

Conseils Pratiques

Arrive at Grand Parade by 1pm

Assembly opens an hour before the 2pm step-off — get there early to find your group's block on Grand Parade rather than chasing it once it's moving.
