MIT — Movimento Identità Trans — is Italy's oldest transgender organisation, founded in 1979 and based in Bologna at Via Polese 15. It runs advocacy, legal and health services, and in 1994 opened what is considered the world's first trans-run health consultory. MIT remains a national reference point for transgender rights and a cornerstone of Bologna's queer community infrastructure.
