Not recommended at all, very rude staff and nothing matched what was booked

Quiet and nice just outside the city, cute and caring staff and delicious breakfast.

An unacceptable hotel manager (in a nice place) First of all, I want to start by saying that I rarely get to the keyboard to write reviews. But I feel like this needs to come out...unfortunately.. We had our wedding guests staying overnight at Tokeryds Herrgård during our wedding in June 2024. The wedding and reception were held at a different location, but since the manor was close by, we chose to have our guests stay there. Unfortunately, our experience at Tokeryds Herrgård was anything but what we had hoped for, mainly due to the hotel manager's unprofessional and threatening behavior. It started with the hotel manager adding extra costs to the rooms - a price increase of up to 50% for some rooms, even though we filled the entire hotel with guests for two days. We could have been more careful and compared prices, but raising the prices that much, especially when the entire hotel was booked, felt unreasonable. The hotel manager justified it by saying that extra staff were needed, but that explanation felt hollow. A bigger problem arose a month before the wedding, when we were informed that we would no longer be allowed to use the main building of the manor for a dinner with guests on Friday night, as we had initially been promised. Instead, we were required to rent the barn next door for 27,000 SEK, without food included. We had initially been promised that we would be able to stay in the manor, but now this expensive change was required at the last minute. When we questioned why we suddenly couldn't stay in the manor, we were told that there was "no room" and that it would still cost the same to stay in the Manor (which we could have done for free from the start). This felt especially strange because all the guests were allowed to have breakfast there the next day. Throughout the process, we noticed that if we didn't do as the hotel manager said, there were small "penalties" in the form of changes or extra costs. When we asked if there were power outlets in the barn, the hotel manager asked what we would use them for, to which we mentioned that we were planning to have speakers in the barn, but then the answer suddenly became a firm no, which made the whole situation even more awkward. It felt like every wish we had was met with new obstacles and costs. The most shocking experience, however, was after the wedding. The evening after the wedding day, the hotel manager called us repeatedly, and before we could even say hello on the phone, she was berating us for something we hadn’t done. She accused us of partying in the barn all night on Saturday with blue party lights etc., even though we had neither access to the venue nor even any party lights. She threatened us with consequences and then hung up on me when I was about to start talking. It was an unpleasant and threatening end to an already frustrating experience. To make matters worse, several of our guests had noted the hotel manager’s unpleasant behavior. In addition, the hotel manager also sold the hotel rooms with bottles of San Pellegrino, which turned out to be over a year old and past their best before date. We have subsequently contacted the ownership group of Tokeryds Herrgård, but despite promises to follow up, we still have not received a response. This is a beautiful place with a lot of potential, but as long as the current hotel manager is in place, I would strongly advise against booking major events such as weddings here. We do not wish anyone else the same stress and discomfort that we experienced.

Beautiful but substandard maintenance.

Good breakfast!

The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms are simple, very clean, and have everything you need for a pleasant stay. The hotel is surrounded by nature, in a quiet location that is easily accessible on foot, by bike, or by taxi.

We were almost alone and it was very cozy. Big beautiful mansion! It was not really the season (early May) but we were well looked after. Self check-in which worked well. Nice rooms. Simple and good breakfast, we are a bit tired of big "bacon&eggs" hotel breakfasts which are over-indulgent, this was just right (if you want it, they might have a bigger breakfast during the season).

When you are looking for a cozy, quiet place to spend the night, this is it. Highly recommend.
