Hôtel Briggate

Rooms at the front need better windows. Kept awake by loud music until the early hours. Room was nice but cold until I found the plug in heater. No door on the bathroom which isn't great.

Nice place to stay

These rooms are definitely only for PARTY people. I don’t recommend coming and staying unless you’re going to be out til the early hours. We stayed on a Thursday and music was ongoing from 4am til I don’t know when. We ended up leaving as the whole hotel was just vibrating. Nice rooms but absolutely freezing also. The balcony doors don’t shut properly and the radiator didn’t work.

Stayed at the Briggate Hotel in Leeds. It was cheap and very modern inside massive shower, which was a nice surprise. There’s even an alcohol vending machine in the hallway. The location is spot on, right in the city centre with loads of food places nearby, and there’s a pub underneath the hotel that’s open until the early hours. The pub downstairs was decent, drinks were reasonably priced and there was entertainment on, so it was good if you’re out for a night. Downsides — the app to order stuff to the room didn’t work properly. It’s also very noisy. You can hear trains, traffic, drunk people outside, clubs going all night, plus the music from the pub below. The radiator didn’t work either because the only socket it could reach wasn’t working, so the room was a bit cold. No parking on site. I parked at Victoria which is only a couple of minutes walk away but it’s expensive. Overall I had a great time, but I wouldn’t stay here unless you like partying until the early hours. Great for a night out, not for a quiet stay.

Ignore all other reviews. DO NOT STAY HERE. Booked a room on the 23rd April 2025. Arrived to the hotel and the door was locked. Banged on, messaged, called, received nothing from the hotel on how to gain entry. Was in Leeds by myself far away from home and arrived at 8.30pm. Hung around for half an hour - nothing. Recorded myself trying to gain access so I could then complain to booking.com and receive a refund, as I had to book another hotel last minute at an extortionate extra cost. Then went on to complain to booking.com the following day. Who said they could offer me a refund but they had to get in touch with the hotel first to ensure I didn’t stay there. Didn’t hear anything back. I have chased booking.com up at least 10 times over the last 8 months, and each time they’ve said Briggate Hotel will not communicate, or leave a voicemail to provide information to them that I did not stay there. I have tried to communicate myself with brigade hotel for the last 8 months also, you will either get no response on any social media, email or phone call. Save your money and just book somewhere else. Not worth the risk.

Do not expect to get any decent sleep... Hotel is joined to the train tracks - you literally feel every train through the walls. If that doesn't keep you busy, the extreme bass and volume of the club downstairs will - until 2am at least. THEN - 3 times the fire alarm went off!!! Free tea and coffee - but no cups No loo roll in the room so had to go scouting for it. The bathroom sliding door isnt wide enough to fully cover the gap The shower head was ready to fall through the ceiling Checking in -seemed like we were taking them away from the bar so a quick pass of a red envelope, keys and code in there, figure it out for yourself basically. Great location if you want to party all night but not if you actually want to sleep afterwards

We loved the Briggate! Great place to book for city centre stay! Viaduct next door was an added bonus that we hadn’t bargained for! We would definitely stay again! 🩷

Really nice stay. The room was big enough and very clean. The bathroom and shower was nice. It is a bit noisy at night (due to the bar downstairs) but that did not bother me as I slept really well. You are provided with ear plugs if you prefer.

Booked on the day, wasn’t made clear that check in was at 15:00 prior to booking. Lost my money and had no refund. Thanks
