Hôtel Leopold

we stayed overnight after seeing a show at City Hall, perfect location for us, near to shopping area and bars and restaurants, room was comfortable and spotlessly clean , staff were just lovely and very helpful. We will be definitely be back xx

Our first stay at this wonderful hotel. All the staff were exceptional, particularly the receptionist called Ella. Ella stood out to us as we were on our way via taxi , to a hospital appointment and needed to leave our luggage with the hotel. Ella came from the hotel reception to our taxi to retrieved the luggage. We were then in good time for our hospital appointment. The room was lovely and clean and the beds very comfortable.We loved the charm of this hotel and how the history is preserved with wonderful pictures throughout the hallways. A beautiful hotel & Grade 2 listed building, steeped in history of The Original 19th Century Boys Grammer School& then later Central Technical School.

The hotel is generally a good one. It is very central, staff are very friendly and respectful. The leopold square beside it also has several restaurants. While the rooms are very clean and room service is very good, they lack some essentials like toilet brush or holders for toothbrush. The breakfast also is fine but the options are limited and there is no veggies.

I recently stayed in Room 123 for several nights. I've stayed in this hotel at least 7 times over the past 10 years, and this most recent trip was, unfortunately, the most dissapointing. The room was dated and, honestly, nothing special. For the price, and 4*, you would expect some degree of luxury or "something" that makes it memorable. The room I was in was no different from a Travelodge or Premier Inn, apart from the decor. It had a bed and TV. Nothing in the bathroom except towels and showergel fixed on the wall. All extremely bare bones and basic ammenities. The breakfast is very high quality, and there are no issues with the location or staff (of course). I paid £160 for Saturday into Sunday, and feel that the price was absolutely not worth what I got out of it.

Stayed here after a trip to the Crucible for the snooker. From the outside the hotel looks beautiful… unfortunately that was the highlight of the stay. When we arrived there was a live band playing outside. We politely asked reception what time it would finish and were sent to ask the bar manager, who told us 4:30pm. I explained we’d come away for a rare child-free night and were hoping for a peaceful stay. His response? A laugh. At the time I brushed it off — turns out he knew something we didn’t. After getting back from the snooker at 12:30am, we were greeted by bass music so loud it felt like the nightclub had relocated into our room. Reception told us it would probably stop around 2:30am. So if you enjoy sleepless nights vibrating in time with dance music, this is the place for you. We almost skipped the prepaid breakfast out of disappointment, but decided to stay. There was a good selection available and the fruit and yoghurt were lovely. Sadly the scrambled egg and mushrooms were stone cold. Would we stay again? Absolutely not. The only thing that got a good night’s sleep was the hotel’s sense of customer service.

Never got to the hotel. Booked for one night. Decided to extend the trip to two nights. Rang the hotel to be told i had booked under expedia and must contact them. Rang expedia to be told I had booked under euro bookings . I booked via the hotel website , not expedia or euro bookings . Rang Eurobookings to be told they could,not change the booking and advised I needed to see if i could book another night myself. As you can imagine, if the service is that bad that they cannot even amend a booking, not giving me any confidence to stay . Leopold lost this booking due to computer saying no, and staff not willing to try and help

Avoid room 122. There is a bar next door it is 01:20 in the morning. Rooms and windows no sound proofing so can hear the bar and people talking and singing very clearly. No sound proofing as window has gap when closed we realised on last morning. Don't turn on the bathroom sink tap on full or the water splashes up over sink. Terrible design. Slip hazard. Black mould in bathroom. No usb sockets so bring the plug with you. Tv needs a reset. No channels match the name of channel on screen. Shower gets very very hot becarful turn to lower temp than you think you would need. 2nd night after mentioning bar noise to staff in the morning. Nothing from staff, no sorry nothing. Almost 1am and bar noise still loud on a Sunday night. Great location but not worth the nightly weekend rate.

We had an enjoyable stay in Sheffield for the snooker. The Leopold is well placed for the town centre and its amenities. The room was airy, clean and fresh, and was very quiet. Temperature control didn't seem to work very well, but with persistence we got it to cool down a bit. Breakfast was ok. The first day there was very limited choice, but this had improved on the second day. All in all a good stay.

Lovely staff and great inner city location. Parking available in park house close by. Very noisy and stuffy rooms though. Air-conditioning not working properly.

Rooms dated. Some staff unfriendly. Very noisy.

Stayed for snooker. Great location And reasonable value.
