I’ve never experienced another place in my life where I can just be myself. This island doesn’t offer anything else like it. Be you bar saves lives, and the owner runs this establishment with passion. Every queer person on the island should be supporting this establishment, I’ve experienced nothing but kindness and compassion from the staff. It’s definitely a safe place to spend a night because the staff are constantly looking out for people causing trouble. I don’t feel safe anywhere else on the island as a trans person. I hope this place stays open for many years, and I’m happy to support them every day of my life. If you have negative opinions of this place, give it another chance because with each passing day it grows into a better and better establishment.

Absolutely loved my experience here. The atmosphere was welcoming, the drinks were made perfectly, and the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive all night. You can tell they really care about creating a great experience for everyone who walks in. The music, vibe, and overall energy made it such a fun night out. Definitely one of the best spots on the island, and lets not forget how fabulous the pink glittery walls are when you walk in.

While the space is cute, this business is horribly mismanaged and constantly involved in online drama, of which they are mysteriously NEVER at fault for. The owner has no sense of responsibility or accountability. Every grievance post reads like a disgruntled teenager wrote it. Multiple performers, planners and vendors report negative and unprofessional experiences, myself included. He accosted a Purolator driver, asked me (someone he just met, wearing dress clothes) to help lift a massive TV up the stairs - while I was there to offer FREE marketing and promotion materials. I walked out, I was so shocked at how poorly he handled himself and treated those around him - all playing it off as a "joke" and being sassy. Be You could be an amazing space - but as long as the “haters and commenters” obsessed owner runs this place, my money and my time will be spent elsewhere.

While we were there a woman came and begged us to leave a google review. It was so weird. She made us all feel so awkward and we just wanted her to leave us alone.
