À propos de ce lieu Parc Point Pleasant

Point Pleasant Park covers the wooded southern tip of the Halifax peninsula. It has a long history as a gay cruising ground, with activity traditionally on the inland trails and around the old fortification ruins up from the harbour-side parking lots. Like most park cruising, it has dropped off sharply since apps took over. The park is heavily used by walkers, runners and dog owners, and police patrol it. Public sexual activity is illegal in Canada. Treat it as an occasional, discreet possibility rather than a scene, stay on accessible paths, and be careful after dark, when the trails are unlit.

We had a great walk through the park and got to see some great sites while there. A very peaceful place.

I visited Point Pleasant Park one morning in early June. I parked on the perimeter near the docks…easy in and out. The park is on the bay and has a nice perimeter path that is paved. There are a number of internal walking trails that are semi-wooded. Lots of people with dogs and kids enjoying the day. Not a huge park, but a really nice setting and real close to the city…but with a relaxed nature vibe.

Halifax is a lovely city. I was there during Grand Prix Sail, very exciting. The Public Park was beautiful.

A very beautiful park that makes you forget how close you are to the city. Lots of winding paths, not really that big, but with different views and surprises: weirs, for example. Good: designated areas where dogs are allowed to run off the leash and others where they must be kept on a leash. Conveniently located car parks and bus stops.

Located in the South End of Halifax, the park offers two parking areas with free parking and several washrooms. This tree-filled park features easy-to-navigate trails and walkways, along with several grassy areas perfect for enjoying the sunshine. The views of Halifax Harbour and the Northwest Arm are beautiful. There is no admission fee to enter the park—plan to spend several hours here.

Point Pleasant Park is not just an ordinary park – it feels more like a forest! It’s filled with tall trees, peaceful walking trails, running and cycling paths, and it offers a stunning view of the ocean. The park is really spacious, making it a great place to relax, exercise, or spend quality time with friends and family. A must-visit spot in Halifax!

We visit Point Pleasant Park each time we are in Nova Scotia. It is a wonderful park with excellent views of the water. We brought a Picnic Lunch and enjoyed our visit.

After a long day of travel this park was just what I needed. Lots of trees and foliage. A variety of trails which were well maintained. And, I enjoyed the historical sites. This park is also dog friendly.

A very nice place for a quiet walk. There are many places to sit. Very comfortable paths for jogging or walking the dog. Cyclists are permitted to ride on designated trails during Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. My wife and I came here when it was drizzling and a bit "stormy" near the shore, but it was even cool. Very nice and pleasant sea air. There are several small parking lots near entrances to the park. Several interesting historical places and monuments. Overall, a great place, I recommend visiting if you really have at least an extra 3 hours.

Great place to walk… idk why a Google review would help this place because it’s like… public property but yeah, go! It’s great for the mental health. 🌊🌳🌲

Had a day walking along the beaches looking for treasures, although there’s not a lot of sea glass etc it’s definitely worth the walk!

This is our favourite place in Halifax. Either to watch the ships come and go or take the dog for an enjoyable and scenic walk.
