Courtyard Marriott Downtown/Magnificent Mile

It was a good place to stay a few days!

This hotel was nice,clean and good location.

Had a fantastic 5-night stay here! The room was spotless and very well-maintained. The HVAC system was spot on—quiet and kept the temperature perfectly comfortable throughout my stay. Both the bathroom and sink area were in great condition. ​One of the highlights was the stunning city view; looking out at the skyscrapers was a treat. The bed was very comfortable, making it a perfect place to get a good night's sleep. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!"

Great location just a block off Michigan Ave., and plenty of great restaurant options nearby. The hotel itself is an excellent and reasonably-priced option for the area. The rooms are good sized, and actually very quiet. The staff, though, makes the difference here. I was warmly greeted at check-in, but also later, when Thomas at the front desk took great care of me with waters for the evening. He was very helpful with advice about the area and went out of his way to make sure I was accommodated and comfortable. This hotel, among at least seven other Marriott properties in a 1/4 mile area is a standout!

The good: location and staff. The bad rooms need a deep clean, black mold, hair in sync on check in. I would not stay here again.

I am a Marriott Bonvoy member and I have never had a worse experience with one of their hotels before I even arrive and I will more than likely be canceling but I want this to be noted. When I called I explained to them that I would like to have a great room with a great view of the city lights. The woman told me to get the queen corner room city view. There is nothing on their website that says corner room Queen City view. She said just get a queen room and it will be on the corner. I trusted her. The charge was going to be $461 for two nights. Then I got an email saying why don't you upgrade so I called them thinking what am I going to upgrade to because I was told I'm getting the best room in the hotel. Then I find out it faces the lake. I don't want a lake view, I want a city view. When I called this evening and I spoke to the front desk manager she became contradictory. I also discovered there is not a sofa in the room. The night before I was told there was a sofa. I was trusting what I was told because I could not see pictures because as I noted there is nothing on the website that says corner room City view Queen. After I spoke to the manager tonight I hung up and I did some more research and I called back and this is where things got even worse. I spoke to the rudest customer service representative I have ever spoken to , Jeremy. I'm going to tell you word for word what he said to me. After there was some confusion, I inquired can you tell me if it is a Lakeview or a City view and he said it's a lake view. I said why is it advertised as a City view. He said you see the city also. I explained I am so confused because there are no pictures of this room on your website and I said can you tell me what comes with the room and you know what that man said to me? He said “it comes with a bed.” I said oh I'm aware of that. And he said “yes all hotels have a bed.” I hope to God that call was recorded for quality assurance so they can see I am not making this up. Now that incensed me. He actually said all hotel rooms come with a bed. And you want me to spend $460? Finally I would like on the behalf of all cancer patients everywhere to ask the management to do some sensitivity training. You are in an area where there is great Medical advantages for some of us who travel across the country to come to see oncologist. I have brain cancer. I tend to get confused. I did not tell that to Jeremy because that would be beneath me and there are other people who get confused that don't have this disease. My point is you don't know what the guest is going through and if they appear confused walk them through it and do not become sarcastic telling a guest who is about to spend $500 that the room comes to the bed and all hotel rooms come with a bed. Interesting how he said there will be no management on site tomorrow. I have a feeling they would be on site if I wanted to sing his praises. I will say however that when I called the previous night I spoke to a great gentleman named Thomas. I told him I look forward to introducing myself to him when I arrived. That will not be the case unfortunately and now I am left at the 11th hour to find a hotel. Edit. Since I posted my review I called this morning and spoke to a director at the hotel because none of the managers are there. At the beginning of the conversation I said I would remove the review and now I regret that I said that. He did tell me that he read the review. He was polite. He did reveal to me that Jeremy who was unbelievably rude has his last day today. Obviously this is why that man thought he could be sarcastic and dismissive. However I am going to keep the review posted because the director who I spoke with did absolutely nothing to retain me as a guest. I cannot believe during our conversation he did not say how can I make this right or how can I make this better? He did agree with me did some of the staff should have sensitivity training keeping in mind that many of the guests here are in the area because of the hospitals.

The good: excellent location, everything is within walking distance (public transport, bars, restaurants, shops, attractions), the room is clean, and the staff is friendly. The bad: they only offer toiletries, they don't provide bottled water, and there's no hair dryer.

Nice hotel, clean and in a very good location. The only thing we didn’t like, it was a lot of sirens during night.

Awesome place, right off the Magnificent Mile, LOTS of stores, shopping, and restaurants all around. The room was great, i had a 20th floor room and had som cool views.
