The Plaza Hotel Columbus at Capitol Square

We waited 30 minutes to check in and another 20 minutes to get an elevator up to our floor. One of our key cards didn’t work. Our showers were out of shampoo and body wash. The water was lukewarm. Our AC did not work. The staff was not helpful and there was barely anyone to accommodate the large amount of people checking in. There were two working elevators. Parking was advertised as $17 but ended up being $24. Hotel was outdated and looked nothing like the website. The hotel bar was not stocked and the bartender had no idea what he was doing. Will not be returning.

Stayed for a concert so I can understand busy & can expect to wait. We had an early check in at 2:00 pm and upon entering only saw 2 staff members checking people in. Other customers were cutting in line to address other issues and staff was not prioritizing check-ins. Luckily we got in within 25 or so minutes. By 4 pm the line was wrapped around the outside of the building & I imagine it took forever for check in (based on other reviews) Elevator situation was horrible especially with the amount of people staying for the weekend, 2 working elevators with 20+ floors of almost fully booked rooms. Staff offered employee elevators as a result. Overall room was okay, not anything like the pictures at all, pretty dated compared. Shower was great. Staff accommodated early check in and late check out. Wish more staff were present for how busy it was.

Right off the start, only one of five elevators was operational, and the one working elevator took forever to service the 20+ floors. Then it took several tries to get the room key to work. The ice machine on our floor was broken. There are no refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms. The shower barely had lukewarm water after several minutes of running hot water wide open. The hotel looked nice on the web site, but it is no wonder it is significantly cheaper than anything nearby. And from the looks of other reviews we got lucky that our air conditioner actually worked. If the price seems too good to be true, it definitely is.

The hotel is indeed dated. But not shabby. It could use some remodeling. The front desk clerk made a good recommendation of where to park that was less expensive than the "Hotel parking" across the street. Only two elevators appeared to be working. There was no shampoo or body wash in the bathroom. A little pricy but you're paying for being in the middle of downtown Columbus. Still.

The line to check it was 100 feet out the door and took forever. The customer service was terrible.

Do not stay here! This place is disgusting. Super outdated, old, doesn’t feel clean. I left this hotel after I saw my room. I have no idea how it’s rated a 4 star or why anyone would stay here.

Old rundown hotel. Plenty of better nearby hotels to stay at.

The photos speak for themselves. This is what I walked into. Stayed for the weekend of a cheer competition (whole team did) and everyone was super disappointed. Seems like more of a motel the way it’s maintained. Still waiting on my refund! Updating to say that even after attempting to contact the accounting department after the hotel’s response to this Google review, no one has addressed the issue of overcharging my card by over $112. Seriously, stay anywhere else but here.

Very nice and comfortable hotel with nice spacious rooms and good quality furnishing.

The staff in the lobby was very kind and attentive. Excellent location. Rooms are very clean. Reasonable price. Ok.

Attended for a luncheon-- appears to be in the midst of renovation.

I recent stayed at The Plaza and they staff understood that I have a bad migraine when I checked in and were accommodating to make sure the curtains were pulled in the room so it was semi-dark in there when I arrived.
