Looking to get away for a night or two-look no further than La Casa del Camino Hotel in Laguna Beach. It is a beautiful Spanish style hotel located centrally so you can walk everywhere. Upon entering the lobby, we noticed it was very welcoming with a nice fireplace going. It made us feel at home right away. Off to the right, there is a wonderful bar where we ordered a couple of Old Fashions made by Spencer. There is a must see Rooftop where you look out at the Ocean and just unwind enjoying your drinks. That day, it was closed for a private event, but we still were able to see it, and breathe in the Ocean air. Our room was a surfer inspired room with all the comforts you would want including that sound of crashing surf to fall asleep to. This was the getaway we were looking for and now know where we can go the next time we need to recharge our batteries.

A charming hotel with real character and a strong sense of place. The Spanish-style architecture gives it a unique identity, and the ocean views make the experience even more memorable. The rooms are cozy, elegant, and full of personality. It feels much more special than a standard hotel stay. A nice touch would be to highlight even more of the historic charm of the building, because that authenticity adds so much value.

we just had a great long holiday weekend at La Casa Del Camino. It’s got the California beach vibe we wanted in an authentic historic building on the main road thru Laguna Beach. Conveniently located just outside the busy main beach area, so it’s more relaxing and literally steps from the beach.  Plenty of coffee shops, shopping and restaurants in either direction.  The staff was friendly (shout-out to Rachel & Kayla) and the rooftop restaurant has amazing views and a great selection of food & drinks.  Loved hearing the waves, smelling the sea salt and watching the sunsets.  Can’t get back soon enough.

Caution!!!! I booked a room for a birthday celebration using the hotel's website. I received the first email saying I had a reservation and a second one with a confirmation "looking forward to your stay". We get there with my guy and I'm told I don't have a reservation at all. I'm questioned by the manager like I committed a crime. He tells me to forward the email back to him, from their own email address, i wondered if i am forwarding this email back to you, it probably came from you, and he did get it once i forwarded it. Then he proceeds to ask what kind a room and it is and whether it is a queen size bed. No it was a king size bed and it was one of your bigger rooms. He tells me that he I can't see it from your email. Well, the email came from you guys, but I'm sure the reservation number must have all my details and the room I reserved. We get a room but not the room I reserved and at a higher rate than what I had booked it. I complained but we had a restaurant reservation so I did not have time to deal with it. One of the front desk guys came outside and said don't worry when you get back, we will make it right. We get back and nothing gets fixed. We left that night, we decided not to stay. Poor customer service. My advice avoid this place. As we were leaving, somebody insulted us for complaining, some stranger with his girlfriend/wife. I bet if he showed up with his loved one to celebrate her birthday and he was told that there was no reservation and didn't get what he reserved and for more money that what his reservation was he would be complaining like us. But instead he decided to insult us. Terrible experience.

Hotel is in a nice location. Hotel staff are nice. Rooftop and access to the beach was great! The hotel room I booked said Spanish king but we got a full/queen bed (queen is being generous). The initial look and style of the room is cool. Their shampoo is really good! Stepping into the room there was the pungent smell of cleaner, the Towel holders/toilet paper holder were struggling to stay on the walls. Caulking in the shower is layers thick—which doesn’t look professional or clean. We were on the 3rd floor. We heard every car revving, all the music playing in the cars throughout the night—it’s fine during the day but we need it quiet at night to sleep. During the night we hear water dripping in the pipes. We had higher expectations and were underwhelmed especially since I didn’t get what I booked—which at the very least should have been a king size bed.

I booked my solo birthday stay here and I’ve never felt so comfortable. The staff was more than welcoming and the ambience of the whole property felt like I’ve been there many times even though it was my first. The rooftop lounge was gorgeous with good food, beautiful views and attentive service on the side with great conversation. The property offers quick access to the beach as well as being close to many walkable stores and cafes. I also had the pleasure of meeting with Spencer and Jim who you can tell go above and beyond for the guest experience, I cannot wait for my next visit!

I’d love this place! It’s old, and unique and so close to a beautiful beach. It’s also within walking distance of plenty of restaurants and shopping. I’m glad they have a parking lot as well. It’s not too expensive compared to other places in Laguna. I’ve stayed here twice now.
