Hôtel Sheraton Memphis Downtown

We had an amazing stay with an amazing view i would stay here anytime...we had no problems with extra charges the staff was great from the check in to the valet parkers .everything was super clean Thank you for making our trip comfortable

Dear God avoid this hotel and city at all costs. As we were pulling up to the hotel a man sat down and pulled out a syringe and shot up. Within seconds he was folded over on the sidewalk, There was a cop directly across the street who seemed un bothered by this behavior and we promptly canceled. our reservation and slept elsewhere. After reading reviews I am grateful I used my Amex and had zero problems getting a refund.

What a terrible hotel. Outdated and filthy.

We were really excited to stay at this hotel while driving across the country. The valet service and lobby appearance promised great things. The valets were super friendly and helped me find a place to park my truck and trailer that couldn’t fit in their lot. But our room and the finer points of the hotel ware severely disappointing. First, our room was 75 degrees when we arrived and took 5 hours to get to a comfortable 72 (all night to get any lower), and the AC outlet is covered in dust, rust, and dirt. It also made loud squeaky noises in the night that woke our baby. When we pulled back the sheets there was a huge black stain, it looked like tire marks. Shortly after we found a beetle in the sheets. Management handled it well and offered to move our rooms but with a baby that had finally fallen asleep we decided not to move. Additionally, the carpet is old and crusty, windows are very dirty (which is a shame cause the view is really nice), there was mildew on the ceiling of the shower, and not all of the bedside outlets work. Overall, I expected much much more from Marriott and a hotel that charges these prices (they do seem to be going down sharply which is appropriate). There is no free coffee in the lobby, only a water dispenser with no cups. The coffee machine in the rooms is one of expect to see in a budget hotel, and to top it off, the travel lids they provide don’t actually attach to the cups ( be very careful) The lady at the front desk seemed either new or just not very good at her job. Simple requests confused her and I overheard a couple other guests have similar issues with the same person. The manager handled everything well and was one of the only highlights of our stay. Hopefully these will get fixed now that Marriott owns the property but who knows. On a positive note, the location is great! There’s a little grassy park right by the entrance and is within walking distance of plenty of things.

$35 per night to park Valet mandatory. #1 - booked a king, got 2 full size beds.. ok we can deal with it. #2 - toilet didn’t work, called maintenance, after an hour, I fixed it myself. #3 - fridge was completely frozen #4 - I was told the pool was broken by cleaning crew #5 - after 3 failed attempts and sweating all night from the AC being broken, I finally got a new room. #6 - After going to get my car myself (valet was busy no biggie), I find my new truck 2’ into a bush. That finally broke me, I went to speak to someone and was offered 1 free breakfast. Not one for me and my wife, not one for my stay, no, just me, just for one day lol. Seriously, the photos must be 30 years old. This place is old, rundown and not worth the hassle.

Awful hotel. Everything was dusty and dirty, the “gift shop” was practically empty. The bar had the most expensive drinks I’ve ever seen and I found dentures under my bed. 0 stars. I’m in Memphis often and I will never never be staying here again.

Will the valet recognized me as I was pulling into the lot. Love the way he handled my business.

Not the best place to walk around at night.

We are a Florida couple that came for the first to Memphis. We came to participate in one of our kids , father in laws celebration of life. So we booked this hotel online. We loved it! Noted...a few things can be done to make it a 5...the ac in our room was not cold. We felt warm in our room. The other thing is that we would of loved to see washcloths to be able to bath as well as the curtains in our room were ripped. Now with all these cosmetics issues fixed then this hotel would be a 5 across the board. The customer service all the way from the valet parking to staff was outstanding. We appreciate that look that you all really pick your staff and we'll train them to deliver excellent customer service. We wil be back soon!
