Vanguard Theater Company

My daughter has been going to vanguard for a while and it has been such a great experience! The staff is kind and the actors are amazing! Great vocals

Great theater setting with seats that allow you to see the whole scenery without obstruction. The audio and lighting was really on point. It has three unisex bathrooms and a tiny bar section.

Quaint theater space. Outstanding performances and the highest quality shows.

Oh how enthusiastic the children are and it's obvious they leave everything they have on the stage as they perform. Makes my heart rejoice with them. I always leave so full, so happy and looking forward to their next performance. I have enjoyed every show.

Ethel Edwards and Norma Arnold loved it!!!

Great local theatre Group with very talented production and theatre staff. INTO THE WOODS was thoroughly entertaining and expertly directed. I highly recommend this theatre company...BRAVO and ENCORE!!!!

The theater itself is outdated, yet quaint. I didn't see a parking lot, and it took me almost 10 minutes of circling around on a Friday night to find a spot.

Fabulous place to see a play

Saw Hair earlier this year at the Vanguard and didn't really know what to expect, but wow! We were really blown away by the talent. Didn't even know we had this incredible resource right here in Montclair. A number of these performers move on to Broadway but you can say you saw them here first! You want to support the arts in Montclair? See a show at the Vanguard. Highly recommend.

Experienced the play, 'Hair', on 6/25. Excellent voices! Good accoutics made the experience even better. Intimate and immediate. Nice afternoon for the 'old folks'!

First time show at Vanguard Theater. Fantastic four production of the musical Hair. Fantastic singing and dancing. Fun to sing along with so many great songs.

We saw Hair recently and the harmonies, voices, band, and choreography were incredible! The reason for the 3-star rating though is the director spoke beforehand about the inclusiveness and diversity in the show, yet the opposite sentiment was expressed in many scenes. It was cringe actually that took away from the power of the musical as a whole… sometimes it’s best to stick to the script.
