Our experience with Kimpton hotels has been positive so far, and there was a lot that we liked about the hotel itself. Our room was a frustration for me. The layout of the room we stayed in was such that the air conditioning vent blows out over one side of the bed. We tried turning down the AC, we turned it off and both were not optimal. I would try to stay here again, but would want to see the room first to make certain the position of the AC vent did not interfere with a good night's sleep. The hotel happy hour was very well done, and the restaurant in the basement floor was nice (separate review).

Stayed here for a concert and a baseball game. So perfectly located. Seven minute walk to PPG Arena, as well as to Market Square. About 15 to the Pirates Stadium and the Warhol Museum. And a quick in/out to the freeway. Just an excellent home base to stay at in Downtown. Room was quiet, eclectically and uniquely decorated, and staff was super. I’ll probably stay nowhere other than here should I return to PGH

We stay here often when we visit family in the area. There’s so many perks that others have mentioned but jfc you really need to love dogs. It’s like a zoo at this point. Huge dogs, small dogs.. you name it, they’re everywhere. There was a huge barking dog at social hour this past weekend and another barking drooling dog sticking its head up by the coffee tea display in the am. There needs to be more regulation with pets. Owners need to stop parading them around paying guests who may not want a dog near them. The rooms carpets are already getting gross; I can’t fathom how filthy they are with the amount of pets staying. Kimpton please get hardwoods and stop allowing the dogs in the common areas around food/drinks.

Great hotel ! Central location, close to OMNI and Market Place, Andy Warhol museum, designer room , quiet, great comfy bed (king size). We stayed at Premium room with the bathtub. The only thing is terrible pillows (Please replace them ASAP !!!). During your stay make sure (TIP !!!!) you book a room with breakfast (to die for!). Probable one of the best breakfast we've ever had. TIP ! Park at the Public Parking around the corner. If you don't want to have your car dented (our was((( unfortunately park at lever 6 (lowest) since parking spaces are very tight. Overall terrific stay! Highly recommend!

We’ve stayed here several times over the past ten years. Unfortunately, things are changing for the worse here. The good stuff: The hotel is well-located. Easy to walk to many shops, restaurants and bars. And there is a large, inexpensive parking garage less than a half-block away. Decor is fun and funky while still serving guest comfort well. There’s lots of good lighting and storage space. There’s a large tv cabinet with a refrigerator and drawers for some clothes. Rooms are well appointed with high-quality bed linens and towels. They are extremely dog friendly. and there are lots of dogs here. The not so good: They need to work on their heat/ac/thermostat issues. Someone there seems to think locking the thermostats and restricting a guests ability to set their own temperature levels was the right way to address a finicky system. It was not. Our room was too warm when trying to go to sleep last night, and then wouldn't come on when we wanted to warm the room up in the morning. To help with our discomfort last night they sent up a dyson fan. unfortunately, the fan was delivered without a remote, which is needed to operate the fan. they then delivered a second, identical fan, but again without a remote making it useless...someone is not thinking through what they’re doing and how they’re doing it. water pressure at the sink and shower were very poor. i think they have a lot of work to do to get back to the higher standard of hospitality they used to provide.

Management should not be trusted here. They make promises for group bookings that they do not deliver on. One specific example being that they make promises for groups using the Commoner Lobby bar that were not true. When group showed up, they were turned away. Despite the fact that that the lobby bar usage was the primary reason for staying here. The bar staff of the Commoner were not welcoming and rude to hotel guests on arrival. Bait and switch when it was time to deliver.

Beautiful hotel with many unexpected, little touches ( happy hour cocktails, quirky decor, friendliest staff, post card writing station). Great location! Can’t wait to go back!

We celebrated our first wedding anniversary, and the staff went above and beyond - surprising us with champagne, treats, and a beautiful room. The hotel feels so fresh, well cared for, and full of energy, but it’s the people who make it truly special. Maya at the front desk, along with Matt, Jesse, and the whole crew, went out of their way to make us feel extra celebrated. Kimpton Monaco Pittsburgh will always be our favorite hotel!

Love that it’s so dog friendly and the decor is cool, but the tv’s are complete dinosaurs (not even Netflix) and the water pressure is a dribble. Definitely not worth the money. Try another hotel.

Stayed here for two nights. Enjoyed the room decor. It’s nice to have a different look and feel than a standard hotel room, bed was comfy. Pillows weren’t so great though, shower was nice. Wi-Fi was good. Enjoyed the complimentary Happy hour on a late afternoon. Service was good, hotel text me throughout our stay if we needed anything else and we’re very responsive through that channel. However was a lot of street noise that came into the room as well as bridal groups in the hotel, one staying across from us going in and out all morning.
