Hotel Monaco is my all time favorite hotel to stay at when I travel to Pittsburgh. Clean rooms and friendly staff. I love the location of this hotel as well, close to restaurants and within walking distance of all of the stadiums.

Decided to splurg and get a nice hotel downtown and were very dissapointed. The hotel itself is in a good location but not worth near what we paid(granted we did come a higher priced weekend due to events). The rooms are small and lack amenities, I would have even been okay with that but we added the pet package and they forgot about it. When I spoke to the front desk they gave us half of what we were supposed to and the dog bed they brought was soiled and disgusting. When I spoke to them again and show them the attached photo they refunded only part of it. Don't even get me started on the disastrous birthday dinner at their restaurant. Just ruined the birthday trip a bit.

Lovely place. I wish there was a bathroom by the gym but I enjoyed my stay.

We are now hardcore devotees of Kimpton properties. For our wedding we stayed at a k Kimpton Marlowe in Boston. It was an incredible, luxurious property with wonderful hospitality from every member of the staff. So when we were road tripping cross country (a mini honeymoon), we decided to give a try to this Kimpton Monaco property in Pittsburgh. The feel is very different but no less luxurious. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The shower and giant bathtub in the "King's spa suite" was the most unbelievable shower and bath experience I've ever had in a hotel. Giant two person soaking tub with an entire room sized shower. While these accommodations are wonderful, The staff here are what's truly incredible! A brief story to illustate: They have a free cocktail hour with some delicious food and a signature cocktail. I got there at the tail end of it and got myself some snacks and a drink. I put it down just to run to the restroom and had told a staff member to leave it there but by the time I came back one of the wonderful and detail-oriented cleaning staff had already cleaned it up. Rather than telling me I was out of luck because cocktail hour was over and they'd gotten rid of all the food and drink they just called down to the restaurant and the bar and has new drinks and new food made for us and delivered to our room. They really didn't have to do that. It was free food that got lost in the first place but they wanted me to have the experience of that delicious welcome to the hotel and that was incredibly kind of them. This hotel also happens to be in a great location easily walkable to a lot of wonderful restaurants and activity. All in all, we are lifelong devotees of the Kimpton brand
