Hôtel Red Lion Pocatello

My parents stayed here and it was a lovely old building with a lot of charm.

I have stayed here before. I will not be staying here again. I booked this hotel specifically because I enjoyed the accommodations (pool and hot-tub) so much. There was NO advertisement or information on the sonesta website, or the red lion website, that they were both closed down. I find that a bit ridiculous. But needless to say, I will NOT be returning here and expect that these issues are advertised on the website for future issues. It just feels wrong to not advertise this. The wifi is also horrible, it is barely one bar in my room, and is just way too slow. The last time I was here was excellent. That's why I'm giving a 3-star. But again, I will NOT be returning to this hotel.

The place looked nice in the photos, but when we arrived the pool and hottub were undergoing maintenance, listed as an amenity when booking. The hallway carpets are atrocious, very dirty and torn up in places. The mattress in the room are clearly very old. This place is semi run down and dirtier than most hotels I've stayed in. Plenty of other hotels in the area where im sure the experience is better, recommend you go anywhere but here. Also internet is super slow.

Bathroom was dirty

I had a rough stay due to a very large, extremely loud group that kept the halls noisy until about 1 AM. The staff genuinely tried but weren’t able to get the situation under control, and I ultimately had to move to another hotel in the middle of the night. To their credit, they immediately comped my room without any hassle, and I appreciate that they took responsibility. I don’t see this kind of issue mentioned in other reviews, so I’m hoping it was a one‑off situation. I’d consider giving the hotel another chance, but I do think they should reinforce policies around large gatherings to prevent this from happening again.
