Older place but huge, clean, and ideal location!

We brought our toddler to Santa Fe (very end of March) and stayed at two Heritage properties (including Eldorado). Both let us down, and not in the "rough night, oh well" way. In the way that made me start taking photos for legal evidence. It opened at Hotel St. Francis, where the AC had been broken for at least three days before we showed up. Staff knew. Staff said nothing -- didn't even call to give us a heads-up when they knew we were arriving with a toddler. We learned about it only after we'd hauled everything out of the car and checked in, with our 18 month old daughter, in a Santa Fe spring that happened to be quite warm. Nobody offered us the chance to go somewhere else or to help us with our bags. To make it right, St. Francis promised an upgraded room at the Eldorado Hotel & Spa (a clearly worse hotel). The Eldorado found a way to make it worse. We'd told them ahead of time, in plain words, that we needed to be away from the pool because our toddler's nap schedule lived and died by it. They said they understood, then put us closer to the pool than St. Francis had even promised. We flagged it, they moved us, and the new room was a clear downgrade from the upgrade we were owed. We never got the room we were promised. That was the warm-up. Open the windows and they swung all the way out, no limiter, no guard, no stop of any kind, with a couch parked right underneath for a toddler to climb. A third-floor window that opens completely, furniture below it, nothing to catch a fall, is not a small thing to overlook. We documented it. Same stay, we found a prescription pill on the floor, left by a previous guest, right where our toddler could reach it. We have photos. Then an injury: 2 AM, my phone slipped under the bed, security was no help, and my wife sliced her hand open on a rusty exposed staple while the two of us lifted the mattress AND boxspring ourselves. A crib we confirmed twice never showed. And when I waited in the hallway past nap time, 20-plus minutes, then calmly asked housekeeping how much longer they'd be, the staffer cut me off mid-sentence. Twice. Corporate had a chance to fix all of this and chose not to. We escalated formally to Heritage leadership. What came back: a partial refund for St. Francis, and that was it. No word on my wife's injury, the loose medication, the broken upgrade promise, or the travel credit we lost because they never disclosed the AC problem in time for us to cancel. We followed up more than once, sent a final notice, and it still sits unresolved. This wasn't one bad night you shrug off. It was failure on failure across two properties, some of it dangerous, the rest just inexcusable, and a corporate team that was absolutely unhelpful. We won't be back, and if you're traveling with little kids (or even without), I'd think hard before you book here. Cainan Harris, their Vice President of Operations, needs to find a new role -- because handling issues their hotel created is not one of his strengths.

This is an events and conference hotel, no question. The lobby is boring and barely Southwest themed, and the rooms/hallways seem designed by someone who’s never actually been to Santa Fe. The rooms are bear bones, ours had no desk and only a single chair. They are designed to accommodate drunk conference attendees and not actual vacationers. The only redeeming features are the staff and the pool. Great front desk, bell desk, and valet staff.

The check-in experience was excellent. The front desk staff was very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout the process. Despite our group having four rooms, check-in was quick and efficient, which was greatly appreciated after a long day of travel. Although the bellhop had already left for the day, security stepped in and helped bring our luggage to our rooms, providing outstanding customer service. The hotel is in a fantastic location, within easy walking distance of The Plaza, as well as numerous shops, bars, and restaurants. The views were beautiful and added even more to the overall experience. We were impressed by the professionalism and willingness of the staff to assist wherever needed. Based on this experience, we would highly recommend this hotel and will very likely stay here again in the future.

This is our second visit to a Heritage Hotel in New Mexico. The first one being Hotel Chaco. The Eldorado hotel is a beautiful property with wonderful ambiance and nice location.

My daughter booked our room here for a wonderful Mother's day long weekend. The staff from Valet to Front desk were attentive and polite. The Hotel is beautiful and the grounds are very well kept. I highly recommend staying here for your visit to Santa Fe.
