Eldorado Hotel and Spa

Outwardly everything look very nice, and looks like it should have a decent amount of quality. But scratch the surface and it peels away. The 4pm check in time is quite late, but then to be told that our room "wasn't clean yet" when we arrived at 4:05pm was unacceptable. We sat in the lobby for about an additional 50 minutes. Went back up to reception 3 times in that period to request an update as each of the receptions staff's self imposed timelines came and went. They we're not making any effort to seek us out. It was something like 4:58pm when we got our room key. Thats almost nighttime And then, after all that waiting to have the room clean, the room wasn't even clean. Soot (from the fireplace, I assume) was covering the window sills and the tv stand (my wife wiped down the sills, tv stand and bathroom counters with a damp cloth to clean it all). There was grit (like coarse sand sized particles) on top of the bed spread. It was visible from a couple of paces away. And not one or two grains, it was a lot. Like perhaps the sheets had been put on the dirty ground before being put on the bed? (I had to brush it all off with a towel) The washcloth in the shower (whihc was rolled up and nicely and deliberately placed with the soap) had somone elses hair in it (at least 3 strands) when I unrolled it. They were short and thick, either dog hairs or pubic hairs. My best guess was that a previous cleaning had just taken a used (dried) washcloth and just rolled it back up again. Either that, or the washing machines are woefully underpowered. The cleaning issues noted above in relation to the room were also reflected in the attention to cleaning elsewhere in the hotel. There was plastic rubbish (like 2 candy wrappers) that I noted in the corner of the central elveator (right under the buttons) when we checked in on Friday ight. They were there all the way through our stay and still there when we left on Monday morning. Rubbish bin right next to reception, next to the water station, was overflowing on multiple occasions. I had to tetris my empty water cup into the existing rubbish. And this is directly in front of the reception desk. Apart from the staff at reception when we checked in, and the wait staff running breakfast in the hotel resteraunt (who had the charisma of a sullen teenager), everyone else to worked there was very friendly and helpful.

The hotel pool bar closed and hour early and stopped serving food. Then closed out all of our bills without showing them to us and tipped themselves handsomely. It’s a scam that families need to keep an eye out for.

Very clean, lovely lobby, bar and restaurant. Very convenient location near downtown amenities. I was able to walk to restaurants and shopping. There's a beautiful pool and hot tub area on the second floor and a workout area with sauna on I believe the 4th floor.

Park the car and walk for days! No need to drive (unless you want to explore the natural beauty and trails surrounding Santa Fe) to access art, music, shops, food, drink. Sublime sleeping on the wonderful bed and linens.

My husband and I loved our stay, this hotel is in such a great area, especially for walking. Our rooms were nice, clean, and it was so relaxing. The highlight of our stay was the pool, the food there was great and the bartenders Josh and Henry made such good drinks and gave incredible service. We had such an amazing time and we will definitely be coming back.

I really wanted to rate this higher, but after staying 2 nights in April ‘26 I just couldn’t. We reserved 2 rooms for 2 nights on the same reservation. The rooms were on different floors and on different ends of the hotel. Who assigns rooms like that for guests traveling together? Our room was right next to the elevator and a common area with seating. You can guess how noisy it was all night long with elevator noise and people talking at all hours in the common area. The room was nothing special and didn’t meet our expectations for a 4-star rated hotel. The staff were great. Valet parking was included in the cost of the room which was a pleasant surprise, but they do charge a service fee of some sort to cover it. Parking should be free for guests if you have an entire parking garage under the hotel. There might be better options in Santa Fe, sorry to say!

Our stay at the Eldorado Hotel & Spa in Santa Fe was excellent from start to finish. The customer service really stood out, everyone from the front desk to security and valet was friendly, professional, and ready to help. The food was delicious, the drinks were great, and the pool was clean and warm, which made it even better since it was cold outside. The hot tubs were also very relaxing, although they were almost always full. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well stocked, so we really did not need much during our stay. The balconies were one of the best parts because they offered beautiful views of Santa Fe, depending on which side of the hotel you were on. The location is also perfect, with most places in downtown Santa Fe only about 3 to 5 minutes away. My only small complaint is that the bars inside the hotel close pretty early, so it is a good idea to plan ahead or be ready to go out for drinks at night. Other than that, everything was great, and we would definitely come back.

Amazing hotel and spa. Literally no more than 4-5 blocks away from all the major sight seeing attractions. The staff is great and very knowledgeable and so nice. Will definitely be staying here again. My wife loved this place.

The Manager, Gina, offered $50 off of the entire stay, which was not on the bill when we checked out. After our first review she waited until the evening before our last night to offer to move us. However, at that point it was more trouble than it was worth to move rooms. Some sort of accommodation would have been and still would be appreciated. The most distressing part is that on check-in that until we showed our written confirmation for the rooms we reserved that were given away, we were treated like we were liars. We are not used to such disrespect. The manager then blamed "reservations" when in fact, we made our reservations directly with the hotel. We are all very disappointed, to say the least. We did notice that there were a couple of large groups which were accommodated subsequent to our arrival. By the way, we never did get the second chair for one of the rooms on the balcony, despite numerous requests and of course one of the rooms didn’t have a desk chair either. They never fixed the lock for the adjoining room. There is not even a deadbolt shaft. Disappointed is the absolute description of our feelings.

The service here has taken a downhill turn since we were here last. Our group consisted of four unrelated travelers. We reserved two double deluxe rooms and received email confirmations. When we arrived, the hotel said we had reserved a king room and one double room, and insisted the mistake was ours until we provided the email confirmation. Even then, they refused to place us in the reserved rooms.
